Guys if you can take a quick of save of this when you experience it and put into troubleshooting. This will help find out what may be slowing things down.

Thanks!

Mike

There isn't a discrete moment it occurs, it's just generally slower performance in all situations. I think it even starts up slower.

Here is my test scenario:

I would agree, but its only a perception right now. In at least 504, I never had a major slow down with hi fi on, no-pulse, and with 500-1000 unit scenarios. I use Bass Drum as a benchmark. Now at 1:1, it takes three-four seconds to run a second in game time.

Thanks Poaw.

No this is great. Thank you! Programmers can do some profiling to determine what might be causing it.

I have to be careful with my perceptions though. I am running a new supposedly faster laptop. But I am finding heat issues are sometimes throttling the CPU throughput.

I might load up a fresh 1.03 install and benchmark some stuff.

What are your range ring settings like?

Try turning them off completely. Does the sim run faster now?

That was the first thing I did. It did not change much that I could perceive. Turning hi fi off helped a lot. But I never had to do that before. I'll keep poking at it over the weekend and see if this is real or me being nostalgic.

Dimitris -> RE: [B546]Generally slower performance than B538 (6/20/2014 10:02:56 AM)

Was this in 1-1 or in time acceleration ?

thewood1 -> RE: [B546]Generally slower performance than B538 (6/20/2014 11:16:26 AM)

1:1...it is definitely faster in accelerated time. I am looking at what I think is the worst case scenario for loading...1:1, hi fi, non-pulsed, 700 units. I have range circles on for selected unit only and merged.

Fixed in Build 547.

Kitchens Sink -> RE: [B546]Generally slower performance than B538 (6/21/2014 3:32:13 PM)

I am running GibraltarV2 in editor mode on my "average" laptop with Build 546, full individual range rings...1170 units, 1:1 time and no hi-fi or pulsing. The scenario has been zipping along just fine, no problems.

ryszardsh -> RE: [B546]Generally slower performance than B538 (6/21/2014 6:34:19 PM)

Just a data point - 546 seemed slower to me - intermittent spikes of 3-4000ms time rather than the more normal 2-300 per turn. I noticed that as soon as a pair of SU24 jammers died the latency spikes went away. Running a larger scenario, one of the Med to Libya scenarios. Quite striking - even backed up to oldest autosave and killed the fencers as fast as I could and game accelerated immediately. Lots of emitters in scenario, all lit up and being jammed by the fencers.
