Aye.. some people think ski troops suck (hi, rbrunsman), but when used properly for surprise tactics (and withdrawn before massed artillery hits) they are deadly.

As to the game. All fronts are fading rapidly, except the south, but my T34's attack to the opponent's rear flags was premature. Half-dozen tanks are still doing rearguard. T34 is flames and supporting infantry will soon die.

But with my troops soon breaking through in the south and center/north fronts running for the flags it's only a matter of time.

Still Alive, barely, but still alive!

Not even so barely, apparently reinforcements have arrived again. Some half-dozen infantry tanks reinforced by a flamingo are counterattacking in the center, while two mark IVs hold a ridge in the north, slowing me down.

South is still being fought over, the enemy should run out of infantry soon, after that the 88s will be overrun.

I have enough to stop you from getting any more V-hexes, but not enough to get back what you have already taken:(

CPT may be right. My forces are severely weaked from the battle. And end is so close that calling reinforcements is pointless.

I am trudging toward my opponents rear flags, but only at few hexes per turn. And with tanks still blocking the way, I think it's impossible.

Now I am just trying to take as many Finns down with me as I go. It is pretty much finished for me, as I am almost out of combat power, and I only control the rear V-hexes on my side (with the Finn sneaking ever closer). Not sure what the points will look like, but I will bet they will be pretty ugly for my side!

Sneaking is not the right word though.. the troops are running and skiing as fast as they can. Only problem is that there's some tanks in the way.

To F9, or not to F9, That is the question.

dodger -> (3/10/2003 11:10:41 PM)

Question is not if I'll be able to break through to the rear flags, it's a question of time. 5 turns left and still 15 or so hexes to go.
