What Bleek has posted for download is the eight variations Chemkid had of his maps. However, you can only ever have one working in the game, so you need to make your choice.

You can unzip the folder anywhere. But once unzipped you want to put the contents of it in your WITPAE ART file. Specifically the map art bitmaps; WPEH00 to WPEH41 and WPEN00 to WPEN41. If memory serves there were a few extra interface bitmaps in there as well, but it's the map panels people want the most.

Well, when this thread was first posted there were some sharp looking sample pictures of the map types included. It's too bad those are gone. It really comes down to personal preference. Some people like hexes, some prefer centered dots. Some maps indicated shallow water areas and some didn't. I think I ended up settling with the cloudy day variation.

Well I unzipped the file cloudy extended the into my art folder still looks the same. Do I delete the contents of the art folder and then unzip the cloudy extended into the empty art folder?

Don't delete anything yet. Go inside that folder you just downloaded and unzipped. Inside there should be an ART folder, and in there you should see bitmap files that look like the picture attached below.

That's the map art that you want to put into your WITPAE ART folder. Copy and paste them into your WITPAE ART folder. You should get messages saying that you are overwriting the existing bitmap files. In addition, here are some other art files in there that chemkid designed for menu boxes and such that you can add too if you wish. Probably simpler to just copy and paste everything.

Ok I did them by one and it worked and it looks great,hey another thing I really need to zoom out the map
I cannot really read the text when I hover over the icons on the map.I started printing up the manual and got like 80-90 pages in when my black ink cartridge ran out,and the new one pulled a fit and stopped working after 10 pages.The new cartridge should be here in a few days,but I'm stuck working and havent had alot of time to go through the manual I will when its all printed out and go through it (during lunch when I have some time) you answering these questions is really nice of you thanks.

I am looking for the version 2 files for ChemKid's Yamato Damashi map mod (standard size), preferably Sunny Day, but others are fine too. Somehow when I asked a couple years ago I didn't realize there was a v.2. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is that the extended map version? I never downloaded that one. I wonder if Doccup would have it in his drop-box?

I've tried downloading from Doccup's drop-box several times to take a look, but the DL always fails on me. Here's the link if you wish to try.

The download worked fine for me, I am using Google Chrome.
From what I can see the only thing v2 is the IJNstockmapcoloriconYDv2 file.

Never mind. Ended up determining that the only Chemkid v.2 extended map is in the darker "rainy day" version. Too hard on my eyes.

I haven't looked at what is there, but if it says "extended" it won't work with stock scenarios....GP

To everyone who has posted with various helpful instructions, links and mods for this game over the last few years, I'd like to say a very big "Thank You" to you all. [:)]

After buying the game and installing it, I've figured out the Beta and got that up and running, then the map and icon mod from the original ChemKid files which someone has kindly re-posted.. I know the map visuals are a personal thing but I think the more muted colours and lack of hexes on the 'Cloudy Day' (stock) map I'm now using are ideal for me.

I know that some of you more computer savvy people would have had it sorted out in a few minutes and it's taken me nearly two days of trial and error and many cuss words but I got there in the end and I'm happy as a pig in poop with how it looks and runs. I may fiddle around with the screen size a tad to try and enlarge it but things are plenty big and clear enough to see as it stands.

Now for the fun part after hours of YouTube tutorials... More hours of planning and orders to get the first turn underway. [:D]
