N. Vatutin appears to be missing in the Blau scenario.

Put him back in a future patch please [:)]

In scenario editor I see him. He has too low rank to take command of STAVKA, as he is only a GENL. Data shows he was promoted to GENP in 12/42, and GENA in 2/43.

M60A3TTS -> RE: 1.08 Discussion (11/20/2014 9:16:27 PM)

And he be where? Nikolai, where art thou?

1-50: 4
51: 5
52: 6
53: 7
150 max

Wait a moment, the calculation is +1 for every unit over 50, right? So 51 is 5, 61 is 15, 71 is 25, 81 is 35 and so on? Is there an additional cost modifier? Because at 82 I would pay 46 for a new FZ and not 36.

morvael -> RE: 1.08 Discussion (11/20/2014 9:30:57 PM)

M60... I checked Case Blue 3 turn scenario. Which one are you using? And I checked in editor, maybe he is marked as assigned to some off-map unit from that unit side only? That would be a bug.

Will check math tomorrow. That's how it was supposed to work. Are you playing scenario with 100% Axis production? This affects both limits 50/150.

It's a regular PBEM 260 GC, but started under an older version.

M60A3TTS -> RE: 1.08 Discussion (11/20/2014 10:05:50 PM)

42-45 Campaign. The OOB shows Vassilevsky commanding Voronezh Front which I believe is incorrect.

He was Chief of the General Staff by this point. Although that did involve a lot of time in the field as a STAVKA coordinator.

morvael -> RE: 1.08 Discussion (11/21/2014 4:10:07 AM)

Scenario data for 42 GC shows Vatutin as assigned to "Southwestern Front" HQ arriving in 17 turns (not the one present on map and commanded by Timoshenko).

Thanks! I fixed a bug. The limit was not based on total production percentage available as envisioned, but the one "going to the East". That made German fort levels lower than 50/150 in full campaigns, hence higher costs.

Special trigger required or why are half of the Fins still frozen by turn 6, Road to Leningrad scenario?

randallw -> RE: 1.08 Discussion - Fins not activated (12/8/2014 8:04:15 AM)

So has the development staff figured out why the partisans have decided to sit out the war in the 1.08 version?

morvael -> RE: 1.08 Discussion - Fins not activated (12/8/2014 8:11:12 AM)

They will get supplies and special squads more easily in 1.08.01 with fixed supply demand of level bombers in the airbases, so perhaps they will be more active.

Scenario data shows they are set to Frozen 10. Don't know why.

So, basically a 'bug', but not a hard-coded one. Well, I guess I have to play a bit with the editor... once I am back in CY from my 'home-leave' here in DE.

randallw -> RE: 1.08 Discussion - Fins not activated (12/9/2014 3:18:54 AM)

Right now i'm not seeing partisans at all. They seem to have gone the way of the Swiss and are sitting out the war completely. [:'(]

I'm only one game into 1.08, but partisan activity seems normal in it.

M60A3TTS -> RE: 1.08 Discussion - Fins not activated (12/10/2014 10:34:10 AM)

Anyone experiencing the fact that active leaders with a political rating of 1 don't get executed or cashiered?

It is rather strange dealing with a kind and forgiving Comrade Stalin.

morvael -> RE: 1.08 Discussion - Fins not activated (12/10/2014 10:37:24 AM)

When a leader is selected for dismissal and he has a political rating of 1 he will be executed, but in the selection process hidden win/loss ratio is more important than political rating.

Sorta -> RE: 1.08 Discussion - Fins not activated (12/15/2014 1:20:41 AM)

Is there a way to remove latest patches (installed 1.08.01) to go back to 1.07ish?

Just installed and continuing to hang even after restarts and would like to finish turn

Thanks.

morvael -> RE: 1.08 Discussion - Fins not activated (12/15/2014 6:54:29 AM)

You would have to uninstall all, and install back to 1.07.15. The problem is saves from 1.08 won't load under 1.07 anymore.

swkuh -> RE: 1.08 Discussion - Fins not activated (12/15/2014 11:17:44 AM)

Read that there is a preferred or required sequence to install WitE basic, Don to Dan, and Lost Battles & then 1.08.01 (whatever.) Have Lost Battles & 1.08.01, but what do I do if I acquire Don to Dan now? (Somewhere I have the game CD from the dark ages.)

morvael -> RE: 1.08 Discussion - Fins not activated (12/15/2014 11:27:46 AM)

Best choice is to uninstall all and reinstall from scratch, you could try to install only Don to Danube, then Lost Battles, then 1.08.01. Only one install less and you don't have guarantee everything will be in proper version after the process. Of course backup saves when reinstalling.

Denniss -> RE: 1.08 Discussion - Fins not activated (12/15/2014 12:43:31 PM)

It irrelevant which expansion you install first as long as you re-apply the current patch aftwerwards. It *should* re-install the relevant patches but there's no warranty it really does.

swkuh -> RE: 1.08 Discussion - Fins not activated (12/15/2014 3:10:52 PM)

As I have original CD (somewhere) think I'll do from scratch & rebuild in recommended sequence. There's always chance of corruption coming from unknown source. 1.08.01 patch would be only one applied.

Thanks all advice.

morvael -> RE: 1.08 Discussion - Fins not activated (12/15/2014 5:22:18 PM)

Expansions install some patches as well (1.06.xx in case of DttD and 1.07.xx in case of LB). That's why it's important to install everything in correct order.

Denniss -> RE: 1.08 Discussion - Fins not activated (12/15/2014 5:29:43 PM)

If you install LB first, then DttD, the DttD installer will not patch the game to a lower level. As long as one installs the latest official or beta patch afterwards, everything gets properly updated.

morvael -> RE: 1.08 Discussion - Fins not activated (12/15/2014 6:14:14 PM)

Thanks, I didn't know that.

swkuh -> RE: 1.08 Discussion - Fins not activated (12/16/2014 2:50:12 PM)

Aha... just noticed that Soviet losses appear accurately shown at end of turn report. Using 1.08.01 (latest?) and wonder where/when this was corrected. Anyone, any clue?

Dr. Foo -> RE: 1.08 Discussion - Fins not activated (12/16/2014 9:47:08 PM)

OK it's been a loooooong time since I've played this game. I've noticed that surrounded units can escape, they are not destroyed or surrender. Sometimes they do but many times they rout and move off beyonf my encirclement. Is this a change or have units always been able to skirt away even if surrounded?

It's plausible, since I'm sure no encirclement is absolutely solid some units would be able to escape and try to reform. I just seem to remember that last time I played I was able to destroy the units I had surrounded…but I could be wrong. [:)]
