Grim.Reaper -> Receiving books in time for Xmas? (12/7/2014 6:52:26 PM)

I noticed on the product page says the books and physical media won't ship before December 17th. Is that just an estimate or the worst case? Trying to understand if the receipt of the material is likely before Xmas if using as a gift. Seems like it will be cutting things very close unless they ship earlier.

zakblood -> RE: Receiving books in time for Xmas? (12/7/2014 7:01:16 PM)

depends on where you live tbh

Grim.Reaper -> RE: Receiving books in time for Xmas? (12/7/2014 7:06:39 PM)

In the us....where is the distribution center in the us?

More of my question was how confident matrix is the books will be shipped no later than the 17th?

Erik Rutins -> RE: Receiving books in time for Xmas? (12/7/2014 7:14:26 PM)

That will be the best case - we expect them to start shipping by the 17th, some will ship later. I wish it weren't that close to Christmas, but unfortunately it's the fastest we could get them back from the printer. As is, we're already incurring extra cost above what we normally would to air ship enough to our warehouses to make the 17th. Hence the warning on the product page. While we will do everything we can to get them to you before Christmas, given the tight timeline and the fact that shipping companies can get a bit unpredictable this time of year, there is no guarantee. If you are intending a physical copy as a gift for someone, I would hope for the best but have a gift certificate ready just in case.

Regards,

-Erik

I hope we have it before Christmas, mostly because I want to read the manual on print.

darrellb9 -> RE: Receiving books in time for Xmas? (12/16/2014 6:41:46 AM)

Woohoo!
Just got my shipping email today with an estimated delivery date of tomorrow [8D]
Now if only the wife will let me have my christmas present early [:D]

FroBodine -> RE: Receiving books in time for Xmas? (12/16/2014 1:08:45 PM)

I ordered the game about four days after it released, and mine shipped last night.

Expected delivery is Thursday, which is kind of surprising since it shipped from Oregon, and I am in California, just one state away. Hopefully it will be delivered early!

Erik Rutins -> RE: Receiving books in time for Xmas? (12/16/2014 3:21:18 PM)

Hi everyone,

I have an update for you on the physical copies.

Our US warehouse received the manuals on Friday and and began shipping immediately.

Our German warehouse received their books today and they should start shipping tomorrow.

So we are right on schedule and in the case of the US a few days ahead. Hopefully this means that, barring shipping company SNAFUs this time of year, you will all receive yours by Christmas.

Regards,

- Erik

Devonport -> RE: Receiving books in time for Xmas? (12/16/2014 3:47:33 PM)

Eric

The ever efficient Germans have sent my copy already. Despatched at 03.30 today. Now up to Christmas post to see how long it takes to get across the Channel.

Thanks for updating. Hopefully I'll get mine too before Christmas. In Denmark post after the 20th of December is a problem.

darrellb9 -> RE: Receiving books in time for Xmas? (12/16/2014 5:16:21 PM)

Fedex early today. Just got mine.
Looks really nice guys [&o], unfortunately before I could check it out more thoroughly the evil christmas witch saw it and promptly snatched it from my hands saying "That goes under the tree. Now get back to the kitchen remodel!" [:@]

KWG -> RE: Receiving books in time for Xmas? (12/16/2014 5:46:00 PM)

Email says mine will be here Thursday. I live so far in the woods, maybe later, I am still on Santa's list.

Reminds me of that Christmas in the bunker.....

Dr. Foo -> RE: Receiving books in time for Xmas? (12/16/2014 6:00:33 PM)

Do they ship USPS, UPS or FedEx?

I think I would like the book but I cannot be home for UPS or FedEx. USPS will leave it because they have a key for a locker (I live in a secure Condo buliding) but the others will not leave it.

Erik Rutins -> RE: Receiving books in time for Xmas? (12/16/2014 6:18:35 PM)

Shipping is based entirely on what you chose as your shipping method when you placed the order.

Regards,

- Erik

morvael -> RE: Receiving books in time for Xmas? (12/16/2014 7:05:14 PM)

I don't remember chosing any specific method...

Steelers708 -> RE: Receiving books in time for Xmas? (12/16/2014 7:25:19 PM)

No, I don't remember being given a choice either.

jnpoint -> RE: Receiving books in time for Xmas? (12/16/2014 7:33:19 PM)

Same here.

MrFreeze -> RE: Receiving books in time for Xmas? (12/16/2014 7:58:59 PM)

The default sending method (and the cheapest) was USPS Ground Shipping.

henri51 -> RE: Receiving books in time for Xmas? (12/16/2014 11:29:42 PM)

I got an email today saying that I should expect to receive mine by January 8 (Canada). Oh well, maybe it's time for Canada Post to upgrade from horses with snowshoes...
