Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (12/21/2020 2:42:02 PM)

I've been trying to bait the IJN into a fight away from their operational airfields before I send off 100,000 troops to Guam. Suddenly today there is a large disturbance in the force at Beazelbob. SANTA MARIA! That-ah a rot of pranes!

Dummy landing force of 20 transports or so 160 miles from Truk and they are seemingly unspotted. It seems our bombers have done too good a job on Truk and Ponape and Wolei

USN/USMC carrier planes from Pearl can now reach Eniweetok by ferrying to USS Long Island west of Palmyra then to Wotje then to Eniweetok

Victory Point screen. We are still behind because of shipping losses. The loss of the Luzon garrison will not help.

There are still large numbers of LYB troops trapped on New Caledonia and Tasmania and on the India/Burma border and at Rangoon. That will help the matter when they become compost

Wow, quite a week in SoCal. Really bad. ICU's full. FEMA has deployed temporary overflow structures. Children's hospital taking some adult patients.

I got the Pfizer vaccine Friday. Made my arm pretty sore for 2 d and some fatigue but not terrible. I think part of the reason I am tired is I'm not sleeping well. I woke up at 3 AM on Saturday hanging upside down from a big chandelier with my arms folded....and the neighborhood seems curiously free of insects.

Free of insects? You must have watched different movies than I did as a kid.[:D]

I see a business opportunity here for Milo.

A fresh blood bar with live humans hanging upside down with a tap attached to their neck. Order fresh O negative, or A positive depending on taste, with delicious bar snacks such as chocolate ants or lightly fried locusts in a soy sauce to complement the drink. Background music could be the original score for the German Nosferatu film.

Sure this is a niche market but one very poorly serviced by the hospitality industry. Not to overlook the fact the clientele would be all those high net worth individuals.

Marshalls:Parachute assaults at Eniweetok Anlinglaplap, and Wotje (which seems like it should be in Poland) succeed and support troops pour in without losses. USN/USMC carrier planes from Pearl can now reach Eniweetok by ferrying to USS Long Island west of Palmyra then to Wotje then to Eniweetok

Those islands used to be controlled by the Germans which also controlled part of Poland so yes, maybe that is where the name came from.

Well it's horseshoe bat DNA. The blood thing is an acquired taste.

Just be sure not to let the decorator install UV mood lighting ...[8D]

In the original book, Dracula was weaken by sunlight but not killed. If I remember correctly, that was also the case in the television show Dark Shadows.

Speaking of Germany, I bought a Heng Long King Tiger RC tank for my grandson. It's crazy ..either 1/14th or 1/16th scale. Engine start noises. Glycerin heater for fake diesel smoke. Rotating turret. Elevating main gun. Working hatches. Real treads. Individual suspension for each running wheel. Gun fires BB's. Speed adjusted to scale. Recoil on gun firing.

Free Hitlerjugend membership. It's great! CD with the Panzerleid.

Took me about 1 1/2 hr to put on all the exterior parts. Towing cables, axes, jacks spare track sections, mud flaps etc etc.

Crazy.

I needed a head lamp and tweezers and a magnetic screwdriver to get some of the GD parts on. Total nerddom. Turns out the King Tiger had two turret manufacturers...Porsche and Henschel.

Unfortunately, the tank commander is all green and has no legs.

The manufacturers assembly instructions are a laugh riot. Considering how nicely the product is produced you would think they could hire a 10 yr old to do the translation.

Axis Fanboy Quiz:

Which King Tiger turret manufacturer mounted the replacement track sections on the turret?
