Suggest you be a good neighbor and share plans with them for a truly best on street $15,000 built in BBQ grill.

Brilliantly devious but I they already have a custom outdoor kitchen with a brick pizza oven. Maybe a reflecting pond?

I agree with witpqs - ponds get taken over by bugs and scum, unless SG want a cleaning lad to come over twice a week to take care of things.

Just go with the $10,000 mailbox with jockey figure holding fishing pole and arm draped over a pink flamingo ...

Interesting name. Old French Aristocracy. Can you imagine serving on the USS Manlove though?

Saw a food truck at the hospital yesterday that said "Maine Lobster" on the side....so I got to thinking. That is quite a brand name. I wonder..

Will the prewar BB's be able to rearm at Auckland (Level 5 port, 36 naval support)?

Mauna Loa is still burning at Noumea. Fire level now 86. Hard to find anyone willing to go put it out.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/22/2015 2:45:46 PM)

USS Pyro (AE) is probably still 4 days out from Tanna. We need to rearm our BB's and get them back to Noumea.

Without even looking it up, I really doubt it. Can you get an AKE or AE there?

Certainly not main gun ammo.

Mauna Loa is still burning at Noumea. Fire level now 86. Hard to find anyone willing to go put it out.

The table in the printed book says for 14" Mark VII you need 576 naval support and for the 14" Mark 8 you need 540. (one of these gun marks is British).
For 16"/45 Mark 5 you need 874 ns.

Don't be afraid to run that AKE at full speed - it will have a long time disbanded to deal with damage.

Right..back to the original plan which was to send USS Pyro to Tanna which already has an AD and AO. We also have another AD coming with Pyro so Noumea can have its own AD again.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/22/2015 7:22:37 PM)

Does the USN have an AK class that can be converted to AKE in March 42?

In stock scenarios the US starts with somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 xAKs that can convert to AKEs and a handful that can convert to AEs.

Over the course of the first three months they get somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 more entering.

If the Allied player has a heads up awareness of this and starts the conversions immediately he can quickly have more ammunition ships available than locales they can be used at.

A player without a heads up awareness will likely have these valuable ships hauling supplies.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/22/2015 8:10:53 PM)

We lost USS Lassen during a Jap bombardment of Noumea. Mauna Loa not go boom yet but still burning.

Pyro is nearby.

We have 4 AK or AG at Pearl which are convertible to AKE/AE

We have 5 at Suva that are capable of conversion but would probably have to go Auckland because Suva is not big enough.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/22/2015 8:15:51 PM)

The thing is it is only March 1, 1942. I don't remember seeing this many USN BB's in action in the South Pacific in February 42 in any other AAR. Normally, most of the USN BB's are badly misshapen at this point or they are being saved for bombardment missions in 1944

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/22/2015 8:20:15 PM)

Found 4 more at Auckland so we will have some help in 12 d. [:)]

9 more in SF [:)]

Funny. As the Japanese player, I've got more 'convertible' xAKs than I can shake a stick at. I couldn't possibly hope to use all of them.

It seems as though scarcity could provide market forces for a supplier that isn't afraid of living in the grey zone between empires...

*******************Samoa Lounge, Suva**************

Sailor: I hear tell there is no place to rearm the battlewagons. Sydney is under air attack. Mauna Loa is burning, Lassen sunk, Pyro is 4-5 days out and that's it for entire Paicifc and Indian Oceans.

Does it seem odd to you that a ship hauling tons of high explosive ammunition is called the "Pyro"? Must really instill confidence in the damage control teams......

Had to happen - just look at the bad joss:
- named for a volcano - check
- same name as a British battlecruiser that blew up - check
- same name as a British Admiral whose battlecruiser blew up at Jutland - check

OK, that's it - three strikes - yer out!
