10 year old SGIV practicing her Student Council speech:..."One of the reasons why I would like to be on Student Council is to help the environment of the planet with recycling..."

FAM: <stops what he is doing and makes the John Belushi face..you know..the one he used when he just heard something really annoying and was about to go postal>

At least her school still has a Student Council... my daughter was crushed when she went to her 8th grade student council organizational meeting excited to run for re-election, and instead of elections, the advisor (a 20-smething new teacher) told them everyone that came to the meeting was on the council, and instead of getting to vote on things for the school, they would only do service projects in the community. [:(]

CDR C.S.B. Swinley, RN: ..PRAYER RUGS? PRAYER RUGS? Do you mean Mohammaden style prayer rugs? What in the bloody Hell would we need those for?

Lt. al Raqqa: For multidemoninational services sir.

CDR C.S.B. Swinley, RN: Bloody Hell no! Next thing you'll be wanting is special services for Ensign O'Boyle here. This is His Majesty's ship. It will stay that way.

I think I just changed my mind about abolishing the death penalty. The efficiency of this method is just too good to pass up.

The Lord Admiral's reaction will when he discovers what Mandrake has done with the British fleet will be comparable to this. I'm sure Mandrake will cheer him up though!

He'll just tell Churchill it was stolen and the Allies will buy him a new fleet.

According to that TV reporter, I have been pronouncing the name all wrong!

Bang Ding Ow absolutely slayed me...[:D]

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/14/2015 5:00:44 PM)

The funniest thing about that is not the names, which are funny as Hell and over the top politically incorrect...it's the fact that a couple of frat boys got together, put the names on the teleprompter at obvious risk to their careers...and then got the earnest, but completely clueless, news reader to read them on air while carefully trying to pronounce the "names" with imagined ethnic and lingusitic purity. [:D][:D]

You just know she prepared ahead of time because she chose the long "u" sound for "Fuk" [:D]

The way she pronunced "Bang Ding OW" is like the Russian roulette scene out of "Deer Hunter" [:D]

Thank you, More Gore for inventing the internet.

You see, Cap'n, I would consider that a moral imperative were I one of the teleprompter guys. There are some things worth fighting for in this world. There are some worth dying for. There are some worth getting fired for. [8D]

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (10/14/2015 7:33:23 PM)

Just imagine the conversation. Two or three former frat boys sitting around before the broadcast using fake Asian accents making up fake Asian names for the pilots and laughing themselves silly. Most of them sound more Chinese than Korean but it doesn't even matter...

"Holy F***, some ting wong, we too low" <laughter>

"Wait, Ho Lee Fuk is the pilot's name" <laughter>

"And We Tu Lo is the co-pilot" <laughter>

.....some minutes later, everyone is fatigued from laughing so hard....

"Wait, I just thought of an idea...." [:D]
