Davekhps -> Airbase support levels, and feature request (12/27/2014 1:19:33 PM)

Is there a rhyme or reason as to why airbase support levels end up at 0 every now and again?

Maybe it's always 0 whenever I move to a new base until I manually change it, but it also seems to me to reset to 0 randomly-- I'll go alone fighting an air campaign, no problem, until I notice that most of my air units are unready. When I go and check, voila, my airbases are set at 0 supply.

One would think the game would default: if an airbase has so much as a single squadron, it's automatically minimally supplied (at, say, 1) unless the player explicitly sets it at 0.

Related: any way to add to the CR the functionality of switching airbase ownership from one screen? Right now it's a clickfest going through each airbase and/or squadron to match them up whenever you move things around-- being able to do all that from one screen would be nice (or establishing an algorithm to do it automatically-- say, squadrons at a base automatically get re-assigned to the base's parent HQ after one turn).

This is a possible bug.

All Italian airbases switch to 0 after the surrender. WAD.

Otherwise AFAIK it shouldn't be happening.

+1, while I see the reasons for current dual system, it is very cumbersome once things become more dynamic.

Random reset doesn't look right and should be looked at. It is possible to resupply non-empty AFs even priority is set to 0 or set it automatically to 1.

Yeah, that's what I thought at first since I was playing Axis in Italy, but this happened well after the surrender, i.e. I already took care of switching over/supplying all my airbases post-surrender many turns before.

I'll keep an eye out for it happening again and try to catch a save the turn it does.
