I know radar ranges are ever contested, and usually don't write about it to avoid irresoluble feuds.

But the last week discovered one or some Korean Wikipedia editors have detailed some radar ranges compilations and number of T/R modules (From OSINT) on many radar types entries on Korean Wikipedia:

I mentioned about Type 346/A radars long time ago, even today nobody knows about their performance, and I saw some heated discussions compare to SPY-1. The only confirmation is 346/A are AESA, and the game did gave them better jammimg-resistence than SPY-1. However, many doubts were casted due to the smaller energy usage compare to SPY-1, as well as the powerplant in 052C/D are subpar to Burke, many analysts suggests they are at best have the same range, if Type 346 may incur some inferior outputs.

That's why the new 055 destroyer have a slightly bigger Type 346A than old one from 052D, thanks by richly provided powerplants. Yet, it's too soon to tell how far it can detect even the "output issue" has been solved. I remember thewood1 mentioned why Chinese were hesitant to install new sensors, and one of the reason could be the energy deficiency.

However, I see some scenario ideas in siming the implementation. I can not envision downing transports in the air full of passengers. But knocking out a few on the ground once off-loaded might send a "virtual message" to Tehran.

AN/SLQ-32(v)6 is already modeled on the 2018 Burkes (and the 2015 DDG 96). It's capabilities are wrapped up under the tech level (Early 2010s vs. 1980s for the (v)3).

"The ship is outfitted with more than antennas above the water line," he said. "Viktor Leonov is reported to have magnetic anomaly sensors, acoustic gear to profile American vessels, and have the capability to map the ocean's floor."

The ship is likely mapping the paths used by submarines in or out of the base and that also conduct training missions in nearby waters.

"It could be looking for uncharted cables that might be connected to previously unknown sensors, or DoD communications cables that reach across the ocean," Watkins said.

Interesting... This might bring the concurring PLAAF effort to develop the H-6N with an air-launched DF-16 ASBM version into perspective. Maybe it too will be an aeroballistic AShM instead of a pure ASBM.

Alternatively, use reusable rocket stage. Both unit and operation costs are lower than aircraft-firing variant, but the problem would be unable to call off the attack.

These have been used by the Iraqi Air Force and Lebanese Air Force for years quite effectively. They're probably cheaper than a MQ-9 since you don't need the SATCOM equipment or the ground station. Probably easier to get parts as well.

I haven't seen any details on specific operations. Google will find plenty of news articles on their delivery and employment (WiB is a good start). I think Iraq has had them since 2010.

I'm not sure there's great scenario material there, since they're effectively MQ-1s with less on-station time and fewer payload options.

Thanks. Very interesting info about the AC-208 Combat Caravan. My flight sim friends who "fly" in places like Alaska will also be fascinated. It is a rugged guy with STOL and can handle fairly dirty environments. The flight sim community could very well mod the caravan with some more technical detail. It's in the DB available in 2011 to the Iraqi AF. Wiki: "Other AC-208s are scheduled to be delivered to countries in the Middle East and Africa through the Foreign Military Sales program. Mali, Mauritania, Niger and Burkina Faso are possible recipients of these AC-208 Combat Caravans."
