Am I the only one that thinks that this proves the russians correct, when they complained about the Aegis Ashore being a INF-violating launcher back in 17?

Ancalagon

That was obvious since the early 2000's, or even the late 1990's, after US voiced up they want to denounce ABM Treaty. Sadly, EU, dancing to the tune of US, don't understand that for the 2nd time we all might not be that lucky to avoid the major nuclear conflict and Europe(including Russia, of course) will be the first victim of it.

But keep blaming Russia under ridiculous pretexts and allow US to destruct all the treaties that deterrent the new nuclear arms race. What, possibly, may go wrong and nuclear, r-right?!

This is why I find it weird to call off the treaty against Russia. Who else has the most sophisticated IRBM in the world? Surely not Russia even they broke it at late-2010s. It’s China that US want to after with: it’s not just jealously, it’s also a real threat to US military when China is not even involved with INF in the beginning, and see how they transformed since 90s.

How surprising...

Speaking of ESSM. A leaked diagram of Chinese quad-packable SAM and VLS box designs are revealed recently. The 导轨与发射箱连接位置 (connectors for VLS rails and adjacent boxes) indicate it’s multiple packability and likely to be used for their UVLS on warships. As for what type of missile it is remain in question:

That article struck me as more of a desperate attempt to sway readers through quantity rather than quality (I mean, seriously circling a blank spot on an propaganda picture and claiming that it proves a pilot was shot down?)

The best write up I've seen of the engagement is from the Pakistani perspective: http://kaiser-aeronaut.blogspot.com/2019/06/pulwama-from-bluster-to-whimper.html

While it definitely has hints of propaganda in it, it's not as bad as the stuff coming out of India and it lays out a very simple and compelling narrative that includes numerous small details that ring true with my understanding of the respective planes and their capabilities.

US approves sale of SM-3 Block IIA ABM Interceptors to Japan

quote:

The U.S. State Department approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to Japan of up to 73 Standard Missile-3 (SM-3) Block IIA missiles for an estimated cost of $3.295 billion.

These missiles are likely intended to be fitted on the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Aegis destroyers such as the four Kongo-class, the two Atago-class or the future two Maya-class of destroyers.

These missile could also be deployed from the Aegis Ashore system recently procured by Japan. The U.S. Department of State approved the sale of two such batteries to Japan in January. They will be installed in Akita and Yamaguchi prefectures and are set to be operational from 2025.
...
The SM-3 Block IIA is designed to destroy SRBM (short range ballistic missile) and IRBM (intermediate-range ballistic missiles). It is a joint development project started in 2006 by Raytheon and Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

Compared to previous variant of the missile (like the SM-3 Block IB), the Block II1 variant features a larger rocket motor and a larger kinetic interceptor.

“Invasion” is not an easy word to say especially in today’s time. It depends on the causality it has to make during the landing, but saying so will heavily impact the marine’s morale. This is why amphibious assault must be reconsidered several times when it is up against the country who has massive anti-ship arsenals.

Video: French Navy shifting to dual crews for its FREMM Frigates

Interview with Vice Admiral Jean-Phillipe Rolland, Surface Fleet Commander (ALFAN) of the French Navy (Marine Nationale) about the shift to dual crews for the FREMM frigates.

The French Navy is experimenting with dual crews with two FREMM Frigates: Aquitaine in Brest (Atlantic fleet) and Languedoc in Toulon (Mediterranean fleet).

Crew A and crew B (each consisting of 109 sailors) will alternate every 4 months, allowing sailors to retain and develop their skills on a professional level while being able to have more freedom (in terms of schedule) on a personal level. The shift to a dual crew concept will also increase the operational availability of the Aquitaine-class: They are expected to be able to spend 50% more days at sea (FREMM frigate typically spent 110 days at sea before the adoption of the dual crew concept). Another expected benefit is that the crews will be more rested, therefore more operationally efficient when going back to sea (and less prone to committing mistakes in their tasks).

Thailand signed an agreement with China to purchase Type 071E LPD. Possibly just one, and is somewhat different from 071 that PLAN is using:
