HawaiiFive-O -> PT Boat Behavior (3/6/2003 7:56:43 AM)

I've noticed a couple of peculiarities with my PT boats, and was curious if anyone had an explanation. I'd like to be able to predict what they are going to do, because otherwise I might put them into position to get whacked.

1) Even when set to Retirement Allowed, they will not retire. They remain in the hex I sent them to, and the next day I have to order them back to port. They remain in the hex overnight even if the target is equal to or less than 8 hexes, i.e. they should have plenty of fuel to zip there, and get back. But they don't.

2) My PT TFs like to split themselves up. I typically have them in 12 boat TFs, and every couple of days or so they'll split into 2 groups of 6. I don't know what would happen if I left them alone again, perhaps they'd rearrange into 4 groups of 3?

Any ideas on what might be causing this behavior? Is it normal, IOW PTs don't retire and naturally seek to be in 6 boat TFs? I looked through the manual but could not find anything that explained this stuff. I might have missed it though.

Has no one else experienced these things?

Must just be me and my crazy PT commanders...

My PTs do as they are told, more so since I sacked McHale and Binginton;)

That's it!

I didn't realize I had installed the McHale's Navy patch....

:D
