TOAW does some sort of calculation for determining whether a unit is Foot, Mixed or Motorized. It has something to do with the ratio of equipment that requires transport to the number of transport assets. The icon doesn't play a role.

Operation Thor's Hammer update -

18th and 20th motorized infantry divisions were positioned in the gap to maintain communications
with the 86th infantry division securing the center of Moscow. Remaining forces are widening the
breech on both sides to strengthen the hold on the city.

Latest weather report shows increasing clouds and more precipitation continuing this week.

What turn is this? Have the storms started yet? What's the supply level at right now in the
Moscow area? Has it started to drop yet?

Operation Thor's Hammer update (end of week 05OCT41)

7th Panzer division supported by infantry has pushed further east, helping open up the gap
being held by the 2 motorized divisions.

To the south, AGS main push is coming up the Smolensk-Moscow highway with flank attacks
that are rolling back the defensive Soviet line.

Supply levels are low, not a lot of movement and attacking each turn..

German Panzer and Infantry losses at the end of turn 16.

Fairly light all things considered for 16 weeks in.

Well, I got another back to back turn, but..... bad news, lol, the supply net crashed.... doh...

ZERO supplies getting to the front anywhere.

Operational battlefront on turn 17, 12OCT41.

Troops are being instructed to hold in place, secure defensive lines, only attack if
tactical advantage presents itself due to the supply net crash.

AGN battle front update -

Forces have moved to the east and now have completely blocked Leningrad from any rescue from
new Soviet forces arriving into the area. Soviet forces will start to be squashed by German
forces holding the city.

AGN update - Turn 19, 26OCT41

Even with the crashed supply net, AGN forces have cleared out the Leningrad city of all Soviet
forces, and even have made contact with the Finish forces holding the frontier.

Soviet surface fleet is operating with minimal remaining vessels and supplies.

AGC update - Turn 19, 26OCT41

When, oh when, will the supply net come back??? The Commanders at the front want to know...

Slow progress is being made in expanding the hold on Moscow. Forces are moving up the Smolensk-Moscow
highway. The railroad engineers are speedily working to extend the railroad net to the front for when
the supply starts flowing again.

AGS update - Turn 19, 26OCT41.

With the recent supply net crash, extended movement has been slacked. Resistance is minimal in this AO,
but due to the lack of supplies, gains are very little.

As I recall there's a lean period of about 10 or 15 turns or so, especially during the deep winter.
So supply is going to be low for a while yet.

I guess these will be some fast 10-15 turns for the Germans...

Cmdr_Vessery -> RE: TGW AAR (3/6/2015 2:56:31 PM)

AGN & AGC Operational battlefront view, Turn 28, 24DEC41.

Still no supplies at the front, troop movement is limited. Most are holding in place.

Supply Levels for both forces will rise and fall seasonally. The Axis will suffer a catastrophic supply failure in the Fall and Winter of 1941.

I kept the briefing simple. We can always expand on it if necessary.

I'm not a weather expert, but here's the deal with this scenario. Originally I thought weather took care of itself, but the first time I played [pre-release] there was never a winter. So I added a couple cold weather events. Still no snow. So I added a couple more, and that is what we are playing with now. So, we are testing weather !

I'm pretty sure there was actually snow on the ground during the winter of 41/42. Let me double check in some of the reference material I have.

sPzAbt653 -> RE: TGW AAR (3/6/2015 10:29:45 PM)

Historically yes, it was a brutal winter.

So, you are currently in late December, and no snow ? Anywhere ? In the Mountains, perhaps ?

No snow showing anywhere that I could see. Here's the weather report for turn 32, 25JAN'42

sPzAbt653 -> RE: TGW AAR (3/7/2015 6:12:47 PM)

Zone 1 = Cool. We need it to go Cold, then Frozen1, 2 and 3, I think. I'm not a fan of Frozen3, but we should have Frozen2 up north at least. I'm not sure if that means I need to add three Cool Fronts to each season. Then more Warm Fronts in April. Who knows. You'd think the silly computer would figure it our for us.

I'll add some more chill for v1.6 and we'll see how it goes.

Even zone 2 has "temperate" weather... It should be cold for sure through the winter months.

AGC update. Turn 33, 01FEB42

Supply net is still down. Territory gains are minimal, movement is minimal. Repaired rail is right up behind AGC's AO, so fresh divisions can be railed up to the front for direct action.

The Smolensk - Moscow highway is almost completed converted to German rail gauge. Another 25 km's and the entire line will be under German control. Rail Road Engineers are not working on the line just north of that line to help the flow of supplies.

The crashed supply net feels like it's been down forever.

As I recall, the supply net doesn't start to pick up until sometime in March. Or was it May?

Felt like it started early to me. I understand the system was lacking, but OCT12th, feels early to have a complete drop to zero.
