Finished mapping Federation, Klingon and Romulan space in the Beta Quadrant...... I will add Tholian spaces etc as I add those races and will complete mapping the Alpha Quadrant next week. (Green squares show the areas mapped into Star Trek - Where No Man Has Gone Before) Today I will take a break from the mapping and work on adding more ships, characters and resources. I have over 200 resources from the Star Trek world and I need to bring those down to 80 resources. Looking at minerals alone, there were 125 minerals alone mentioned throughout each of the tv series and movies. For this timeline in the mod I would look only at what was mentioned in Enterprise and in the TOS era. Star Trek Enterprise - 15 minerals mentioned Star Trek - TOS era - 28 minerals mentioned Some of the TOS minerals were Cast Rodinium Alternate name for rodinium. Episode: Balance of Terror (TOS), 1966 Diburinium A metallic substance of high density used by the Kelvin. Episode: By Any Other Name (TOS), 1968 Lithium Crystal This mineral was required to fuel the early generations of warp drive engines, prior to the discovery of dilithium. Lithium crystals were laboriously processed at lithium cracking stations such as the one on Delta Vega. Lithium crystal was also used as a synonym for dilithium on one of the very first episodes. Episodes: Where No Man Has Gone Before (TOS), 1966, Mudd’s Women (TOS), 1966 Magnesite-Nitron Produced in tablet form, this mixture can create heat and illumination when crushed. While magnesite is the name of a real mineral (magnesium carbonate) and nitron is a synonym for nitrogen or the trade name of a type of fertilizer, the qualities ascribed to this substance preclude it being a mixture of the two real substances. Episode: Friday’s Child (TOS), 1967 The remaining resources will be picked up from a separate list of 240 resources that I have covering all Star Trek eras but I need to separate the resources from this list for the TOS period or prior to it.
