Welcome ifailmore, Although there isn't an official PBEM, please see the AAR's from Warspite1 vs Orm and Mayhemizer vs myself. These are all games being played by E-mail. They are played using solitaire mode and E-mailing saved games between each other. Mayhemizer and myself have found G-mail to be very efficient for this. It's a bit of a compromise as it works best if both of you can be online together during combat phases (particularly air and naval) due to the interaction required but isn't crucial. It merely takes longer to resolve the particular phases of play. It does require some mutual trust regarding die rolls (ultimately, if winning at all costs is your goal, stick to solitaire as that way you can't lose) but there are online die roll websites that E-mail the results to interested parties if this was an issue. A recent post on the forum provides links to these. Mayhemizer and myself choose to conduct much of the in play interaction via an AAR. It's no quicker or slower than private E-mails and has the advantage that the AAR pretty much writes itself as you go. Otherwise, there is a time commitment to separately doing AAR's but I welcome those that do as I find them fascinating to read how different people approach the game and the strategies they use. Hope this helps for you
