Getting closer to send out my first 2D Graphics release candidate package to Mr Petho...

Attached a snippet of night action from "Shuneri at the Crossroads", but with Visible Hexes outlined instead of shadowing. I prefer to see my terrain.

(Also playing with FOW turned OFF, to observe how the AI behaves. It is shooting at me!)

budd -> RE: The Cool Screenshot Thread (8/29/2015 3:14:49 AM)

there's no law i'm aware of that says it can't be released early...come on...be trend setters[:D]
Really looking forward to this. thanks for always keeping us up to date, really appreciate it. Other dev teams could take a lesson.

Jason Petho -> RE: The Cool Screenshot Thread (8/29/2015 4:02:39 AM)

Thanks, budd!

We're definitely trying, that's for sure.

I don't think we can do earlier, but we're definitely going to be on time.

Crossroads -> RE: The Cool Screenshot Thread (8/29/2015 7:08:28 AM)

Another little teaser...

Operation Musketeer Revised 1956. From my Photobucket account, so not in real size.

2D Zoom-In View, Alt Counters, FOW=OFF to see what's going with AI, also seeing enemy Air/Ammo/Arty levels in the Hex Infobox for that reason.

I can confirm the game comes with its first MOD packed in, namely NATO Icons with white background for those who prefer it that way. Edit: Yes, JSGME is packed in also.

Here's the night action snippet again, this time with Hex Shadowing, FOW both =ON, and with the mod in place too.

From my Photobucket account so not in real size (2D Zoom-In view used), with colors a bit strange courtesy of MS Paint too.

Anyway, does look much more like night action given hexes outside LOS are shadowed, doesn't it.

That's a sample of night action, with special night terrain BMPs. For night displays, the underlying terrain is less bright, is reduced contrast. The units, flares, gun flashes, terrain features etc. -- these are unchanged between day & night, and overlaying the darkened terrain makes them stand out more. The daytime displays are less "dramatic" looking (less high contrast) than this.

Big Ivan -> RE: The Cool Screenshot Thread (8/29/2015 3:07:01 PM)

budd -> RE: The Cool Screenshot Thread (9/1/2015 3:07:32 AM)

you guys are killing me. Did the final build get submitted so that AAR can start?

Question are those gray tank looking things on the map, wrecks, looks like there is a WR in the hex with them.

I want to buy it and the Vietnam game. This is going to be so awesome when the new stuff gets ported back to the WW2 stuff. If things go well sale wise [fingers crossed] how about a Korean war game.

Jason Petho -> RE: The Cool Screenshot Thread (9/1/2015 3:52:24 AM)

Polishing up the Gold Master (v1) right now.

It will be available to Matrix/Slitherine tomorrow and I suspect it will take the rest of the week to provide an "installer" version.

Once that version has been vetted and the team has the true final version, expect to see some AAR's and video tutorials coming around mid September.

That's the plan!

Yes they are. We wanted to have low key, subtle markers for the game. Hence them all being light gray, with a little text helping to indicate what they are. It is the same for Minefields (1,2,3 strengt), IPs, Pillboxes, Bunkers, the lot.

berto -> RE: The Cool Screenshot Thread (9/4/2015 9:06:19 PM)

The coolest screenshot of all:

[image]http://pikt.org/matrix/cs/graphics/CoolScreenshot30.jpg[/image]

We are in the process of handing off to Matrix/Slitherine the Middle East 1.00 Gold Master EXEs and full install.

Everything subject to final review and testing, of course.

Wish us luck!

Noypi53 -> RE: The Cool Screenshot Thread (9/5/2015 8:26:09 AM)

^ Hope everything goes well with the handoff to Matrix. Maybe there'll be a chance for an early release?!? [8|]

Big Ivan -> RE: The Cool Screenshot Thread (9/5/2015 10:53:15 AM)

Best of luck always Dev Team!!

Hexagon -> RE: The Cool Screenshot Thread (9/5/2015 6:07:51 PM)

Ba, until i dont see a 1.01 is like a 18 years old virgin... trying find how lose it [:D]

Maybe release the game with a bug and have next day hotfix... 1.0 allways made me think in "well, something is not working waiting first patch" [8|]
