Turn 19. Sep/Oct 1942. Failed Amphibious Invasion of Sardinia. The allies had four impulses this turn. The weather in the Med for those four impulses was fine, rain, rain, fine. The allies took a naval on their first impulse with the intention of capturing an empty Cagiliary and thus Sardinia on their next impulse. However, rain in the Med on the two middle allied impulses not only stopped the CW from landing but allowed the Italians to reinforce Cagilary with two garrisons. When the weather finally did clear on the fourth allied impulse, the CW had no choice but to land away from Cagilary. They chose the adjacent hex, which contained a resource, with decent odds. However, the CW rolled poorly and lost both invading ground units. Sardinia was the CW "Dippe". [image]local://upfiles/31901/AC8C67EDC4EC4228AF37630E119C4FDF.jpg[/image]
