09. Jan/Feb 1941. Sea Areas (Axis and Allied Control). The first impulse of this turn represented the zenith of axis control of sea areas, especially for the Japanese. After USA entry on impulse 3, the Japanese lost control of the Bismark, Solomons, and Coral Sea area. The screen cap duo below was taken at the end of this turn, so it reflects the situation at sea for the Japanese slightly post apogee of peak IJN control. Note the break in the CW convoy line from Australia to England in the Southwest Indian Ocean. This break lost the CW 1 of the 3 food in flames PP's.
