I'm thinking about picking up a new game. I've past CS games but haven't played Flashpoint. For those that have both, which one do you like better and why?

that's a hard choice for anyone to make tbh as there both very good games, so i'd guess you'd have to ask your self what time period you wish to play?

i like both so are on the fence, as i like nearly all time periods of war[;)]

This isn't gonna help you. I have both and there both good games and very different. Go with what ever time frame , content, game type you prefer. There both fun to play. No wrong answer here, I'd say get both[:'(]

The current Flashpoint game is a huge improvement over the first Flashpoint game. CSME is a moderate improvement and mostly about the new time frame, as mentioned above.

However, because Flashpoint and the expansion is currently on sale, all else considered, get that now!

Go for the cheapest one. [:D]

I have both, and both are excellent games. The main difference between them, in addition to the time frame/forces, is that CSME is very much a traditional wargame, while Flashpoint is really pretty unique--the asynchronous turns, the simultaneous turn resolution, less micromanagement, etc. Both dev teams are also very responsive and active on the forums.

Really, you should just get both!
