Remember it is BETA so please don't use customer service when it concerns beta's.

Anyway I fixed the issue with the PBEM++ login. Was a silly coding mistake by me. Sry there.

And updated 103h to 103h3. See first post.

Thanks for the testing and reporting!

Best wishes,
Vic

lancer -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (2/24/2016 10:06:14 AM)

Hi nukkx,

There are a series of new Commanders Reports in the Report tab (they are grouped together). The one recently added highlights any units, within each theatre, that have low supply consumption (it's the stat in the unit info box, along with readiness & AP, etc.).

They are a quick way to identify problems but are entirely optional in their use.

Cheers,
Cameron

Tweedledumb -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (2/28/2016 7:26:17 PM)

Couple of things about 1.03h3

I did a concentric attack and when attacking from one hex it said +0%, from two hexes +20% and from 3 hexes +39%

I know the last should be 40.

Also, the graphics appear a bit fuzzier but it might be my old eyes.

Hi Tweedle,

First of all: thanks for reporting back.

If I may ask some follow up questions...
What is your OS (xp? win10? win8?)
If possible could you post a screenshot of those 'fuzzier' graphics?

Best wishes,
Vic

Philippeatbay -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (2/29/2016 7:34:15 PM)

The only way to be sure your memory isn't playing tricks on you is through parallel installations.

So set up two games in exactly the same way, one in the 'fuzzy' version, and one in an older version. Take screenshots of each (and it's very easy to run two games at the same time -- I do it all the time when I'm testing my mods).

For the record, I don't see anything that looks any fuzzier on this as opposed to other versions, but must admit to not really knowing what 'fuzzy' means (hence the need for compare and contrast screenshots).

Tweedledumb -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (3/1/2016 1:46:39 AM)

Forget my comment about fuzziness - was just tired eyes!

The font in the Unit Troops boxes (in the blue and red boxes) does appear to be smaller, though. Is that intentional?

Running Windows 7 with Nvidia GeForce GTX 650.

sandman2575 -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (3/1/2016 5:54:03 PM)

Couple of things -- perhaps common knowledge but just to point out if not --

-The picture for Gen. Hoth in the "PG" tab is incorrect -- it shows Hoepner for both 3rd and 4th Panzergruppen

-Also, what's with the reduced red & blue modifiers on the unit cards? They are really difficult to read now -- was much better in v.1.02G -- I hope this will get 'rolled back' since this is not an improvement but just the opposite --

Hi Sandman,

Yep, Hoth has had an historical makeover.

Well spotted, I missed that one.

What version of windows are you using and which screen resolution?

Cheers,
Cameron

First, huge thanks to you and Vic for your dedication and support of this terrific game.

I'm on Windows 7 x64, 1920x1080. The red/blue modifiers looked just fine under v.1.02G. Not sure why it's showing up so compressed and small under the latest beta patch, as shown in the screenshot above -- ??

KenchiSulla -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (3/3/2016 7:00:35 AM)

I can confirm what sandman reported for the fonts. I run windows 10.

Vic -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (3/3/2016 10:39:53 AM)

Hi,

In fact its me that changed the size of those OFF + DEF modifier boxes in the last BETA version.

I'll see if I can get the fonts clearer. I like the smaller box since it obficates the troopType artwork less.

Best wishes,
Vic

sandman2575 -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (3/3/2016 2:27:28 PM)

As someone whose eyesight isn't great, have to say that I much prefer information clearly presented even at the expense of some graphical niceties. Not my call of course, but I'd be very much in favor of the old red/blue modifiers that were clearly readable. This seems like a case of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" [:)]

v1.03 M has been uploaded!

See the first post of this thread for changelist and download link.

Major changes are the addition of The War Diary and an improvement of the Map Graphics.

Best wishes,
Vic

Templer_12 -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (3/21/2016 3:53:40 PM)

Puplic Bata 1. 03 M

Just a reminder, or for information, the Wehrmacht used for numbering their units often also Roman numerals I, II, III, IV, V, VI ...
For example: III. Panzergruppe = 3th Panzer Group.

Otherwise, I find in the Puplic Bata 1. 03 M extensive corrections of the German texts.
I will intensively deal next weekend with the game and look forward.

Thank you.

Tac2i -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (3/21/2016 5:43:06 PM)

1.03M installed and working. Hugo is alive and well.

wadortch -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (3/21/2016 7:24:53 PM)

103.m installed and running without problems on a Windows 10 machine.

Actually thats correct to use roman numerals for Armeekorps, but for Armies the numbering was 4 Armee for example. While at this stage the panzergroups were not technically full armies they followed the numbering format. It helped clarify on map markings at a glance which were armies and which were corps.

ChuckBerger -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (3/23/2016 12:59:41 AM)

Hmmm. I like the "War Diary" concept, but so far the diary entries seem to have nothing at all to do with what the division is actually experiencing in the game. For instance, 30 June entry is something about "panic" and his platoon having to abandon its positions and run helter-skelter to the rear. But in game, the relevant division had just finished leading the encirclement of Bialystok and spearheading the successful final attack on the city. Certainly no panic, the division didn't even take any casualties in the final assault.

Also, I can't find where to access the diary, aside from the pop-up at the beginning of the turn. And it would be nice to be able to designate the division you want to track, rather than having it randomly assigned.

---

Also, I like your new swamps better than your old swamps!

ChuckBerger -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (3/23/2016 2:06:51 AM)

Yeah, diary definitely not working. Poor deluded Hans is reporting to his parents that Stalin has surrendered and he'll be coming home next week. It's the 4th of June and I'm only just over the Dniepr, far far from any of the main objectives, much less Stalin's capitulation!

lancer -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (3/23/2016 3:49:03 AM)

Hi Chuck,

Clean start or a save game?

The Stalin has surrendered is a rumour (one of a number) that is circulating around the platoon. We are talking a private's perspective of the war here, not that of a Field Marshal. WAD.

In the attack on Bialystok is it possible that one of the other units involved panicked?

Cheers,
Cameron

ChuckBerger -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (3/23/2016 4:52:38 AM)

Clean start. Definitely no panics in the stack, or anywhere along the entire front. This was turn 2...

My aging eyes thank you for reverting to the bigger Red/Blue offensive/defensive modifiers. Much easier to read. [:)]

lancer -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (3/24/2016 7:40:24 AM)

Hi Chuck,

Found a small bug that was causing unnecessary panic in the ranks.

Thanks for highlighting it.

Cheers,
Cameron

Vic -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (3/24/2016 6:07:18 PM)

Updated version 103M to version 103M2 which has an updated scenario file fixing the issue with the panic story.

Best wishes,
Vic

studwick -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (3/24/2016 7:37:17 PM)

1.03M played until around September (made it to around Smolensk). No issues what so ever. Windows 10

Vic -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (3/26/2016 9:25:28 AM)

Thanks for reporting back!

@all: do please keep us posted even if all is working well with v1.03m. This is going to be an important patch for 'mainstream' users who are still at the official version of 1.02g.

Best wishes,
Vic

willgamer -> RE: Testing thread for Public Beta 1.03b : Balance Adjustments (3/26/2016 5:20:25 PM)

Has anyone found a use for Siege Arty in a normal game, or better, with the restriction of converted track only?

Free setup is clunky to use. How about just drag and drop?

Just asking... [sm=00000924.gif]
