Japan conducts a couple of automatic land combat attacks. However, they did consider two higher risk attacks, one in the north against the communist and one in the south against the Nationalist, but in the end decide to wait closer to the end of turn so as to minimize the consequences of a roll that disorganizes their forces.

Italy uses their land to start moving their armies drawn into Syria back west as fast as possible to meet the allied threat materializing in Western Libya and which likely will eventually move their direction.

However, Italy will keep adequate forces in place to defend the Suez Canal from the threat of amphibious invasion.

Land combat 4, assault (again) to take Pskov fails! The only thing positive from the German perspective was that the modified roll was a 13, resulting in no losses, versus a 14, which would have cost the Germans 3 units.

The Soviet defenders of Pskvo are madmen who are holding the city against repeated attacks and incredible odds.

The Soviets have made the conscious decision to defend in strength in the north. The result is that they have left the southern part of the Soviet Union wide open. For now, the Germans don't look to have the troops in the south to exploit that, but it's likely they'll divert more troops to just that task.
