Really, with the horrible weather raging across the globe not much going on on land anywhere except on the Italian front where the Western Allies continue to expand their holdings through movement (not combat) and pour more troops into those holdings. Turn 21. Jan/Feb 1943. Allied #7. German U-boats. Norwegian Sea. The Norwegian Sea was the only sea area with axis submarines in which either side tried to initiate a naval battle. Turn 21. Jan/Feb 1943. Allied #7. RN. East Med. Naval Surface Combat. While the RN technically won the battle by forcing the lone (Vichy) surface ship to abort the RN paid a price by seeing one of their heavy cruisers damaged in the exchange. Turn 21. Jan/Feb 1943. Allied #7. RN. Arabian Sea. It's not only in the Atlantic that the Western Allies need to worry about axis submarines or surface raiders attacking their convoys. The Arabian Sea is one such area. However, the IJN I-boat unit was disorganized and unable to initiate. The RN, on the other hand, had no such desire so no battle was attempted. Turning the tables a bit, the RN with only loaded transports in the Red Sea elect not to try to initiate a naval combat against the lone Vichy CP operating.
