Gmay, you might want to give the Germans a radio so that they can at least use their mortars!
At present, as long as they're behind obstacles and can't see the enemy, they are totally useless.
_My thoughts...

Very good idea, thanks for your comment I will try it out.
But you can move them if you like, like you move ordnance.

Hello again, my second scenario
Scouting in the mist

Village K. 12 April 1942 07:45
You have a mission near a village south of Leningrand.
From our intelligence we know that a partizan group has set camp near that village.
It is led by two officers and one Commisar of the Red Army.
We know that the group have begun priming the two main bridges one hour before.
You have two tasks.
1.Prevent the destruction of the bridges.
2.Eliminate the officers and the commisar. They will be recognizable because they always wear their uniforms.
Do not underestimate the enemy. They know the place better than you, they are heavily armed,
and they are all former soldiers, not peasants.Expect heavy resistance.
Be aware of ambushes.
The location is near a river ,so there is mist and your vision will be limited.

It is a difficult mission for the German side.At the "prototype" German player had at most 8
turns to complete his objectives, but at the end I decided to change it to 9.

The Last Tiger
Pillau, Samland, East Prussia 1945-04-26.
The German 4th Army's resistance in East Prussia was quickly succumbing to the massive weight of the 3rd Belorussian Front's
attacks. Feldwebel Kostler's Tiger 214 was the last operational tiger tank in Schwere Panzer Abteilung 511. Paired with a
supporting Nashorn, Kostler was to delay the Russians while remnants of the German Army was ferried across to the Frische
Nehung. In the early morning twilight, the Nashorn lit up the sky with fire that destroyed an ISU-152. Soon a wild tank gun

Here's another one

The Batt Boys

Central Italy, 24 October 1943.

For two days we are trying to take the two hills, having sustained heavy casualties.
The Germans are fortified in the buildings and their machinegun nest is not making the situation any better.
After heavy shelling from midnight till dawn , we have thinned their defences.
Rangers ,you have to take these hills today.
Until dusk I want to see you waving me from these hills and the Germans running for their lives.

It is an American Rangers versus German Paratroopers battle.
If you want to make it harder for the American side you can reduce the turns down to 9 or 8.
Original number of turns is 10.

rico21 -> Battle Of Carpiquet - I (5/24/2018 4:43:12 PM)

Battle Of Carpiquet

The municipality of Carpiquet located west of Caen has an aerodrome which represents a major objective for the Allies. This
airfield was already used by the French before the war and is occupied by the Germans. It consists initially of a 1,800 meter
long cement track.

Carpiquet and his airfield must pass under the control of Allied soldiers from June 6, 1944. But on D-Day, the soldiers landed
on the beaches take a significant delay at the start of the action, and German soldiers take the opportunity to install a
strong defensive line to deny access to the city of Caen.

Carpiquet remains for nearly a month in the hands of the German soldiers of the 12th SS Panzer Division commanded by
Oberfuehrer Kurt Meyer, which gives them time to set up formidable combat posts despite the permanent allied bombing. which
force the "Panzer" to emboss. The 3rd company of S. Panzergrenadier-Regiment 26 (reinforced by the 1st section of the 1st
company) is in position west of Carpiquet. Elements of the 4th company are banned in the east. The staff of the 1st Battalion
and the other elements of the regiment are located south of the airfield, taking advantage of the defensive installations of
the airfield set up before the start of the Battle of Normandy. The infantry is supported by tanks of the SS Panzer Regiment 12
(five Panzer IV tanks of the 9th Squadron under the orders of Obersturmfürher Buettner) located to the south-east of the
airfield and having a complete view of the whole of the site. Gunners of the 3rd Regiment of S.S. Panzerartillerie-Regiment 12
also support the defense of the sector.

General Montgomery, commander of the Allied Land Forces in Normandy, is planning a first operation to seize Carpiquet:
Operation Ottawa, part of Operation Epsom launched on June 26, 1944. Due to the losses encountered during Epsom, Ottawa is
canceled. We have to wait until July 4 and the launch of Operation Windsor to see the situation evolve.

The Windsor operation is preceded by extensive artillery preparation from the 21 field batteries of 248 tubes of different
calibres as well as 408 mm and 380 mm pieces aboard the British battleships HMS Rodney and HMS Roberts in Manche. . A first
deception attack by the Royal Winnipeg was launched on July 4 at 5 am in the direction of the airfield hangars. At the same
time, the Canadians of the La Chaudière and North Shore Regiment (8th Infantry Brigade) assault the town of Carpiquet. The
tanks of the Sherbooke Fusiliers (2nd Armored Brigade) manage to cross the minefields north of Carpiquet but face a fierce
defense from the SS soldiers who also take the North Shore Regiment under fire. The Canadians, backed by tanks from the 10th
Armored Regiment Fort Garry Horse (2nd Armored Brigade), enter Carpiquet at 6:32 am when heavy street fighting begins against
the SS of the 12th Panzer Division. Shortly after 08:30, the Allies seize the town and then concentrate their efforts on the
airfield.

The Royal Winnipeg Rifles is relaunching its offensive, which this time aims to seize hangars and airfields, but Canadians must
cross the great break that separates them from German positions. They suffer heavy casualties: several Sherman tanks are
destroyed and, while they are halfway through the hangars, Canadians retreat to their starting point. No report goes back to
General Keller who is convinced that everything is working according to the plan initially planned: the front forms a salient
that is unfavorable to the Allies, but the Germans remain in a defensive position and do not exploit the temporary withdrawal
of Canadians. . In Carpiquet, the men of the 8th Infantry Brigade set up their defensive positions in anticipation of possible
counter-attacks. They are located 1600 meters from the first homes of Caen and represent a very important threat for the German
forces: they have concentrated their defense north of the capital of Calvados and the presence of Canadian soldiers on their
left flank is largely unfavorable. Allied forces are likely to use their off-center Carpiquet bridgehead to bring down the
German lines of defense.

In the early afternoon, the Royal Winnipeg revived its offensive towards the airfield, supported this time by two squadrons of
Typhoon aircraft that go hunting German armor and guns. They manage to reach the hangars north of the airfield but the SS of
the 12th Panzer do not bend and launch several counter-attacks with their tanks from the hangars to the south: again, the
Canadians are forced to retreat to their starting point despite the intervention of their aviation. The Allies lost thirteen
tanks during this first day of Operation Windsor.

rico21 -> Battle Of Carpiquet II - END (5/28/2018 3:59:27 PM)

Battle Of Carpiquet II

On the night of 4 to 5 July 1944, Kurt Meyer prepares the German counter-offensive to take over the municipality of Carpiquet, essential in his view to the defense of
Caen. His troops stand ready to pierce the front line from the village of Francqueville and they gather all the necessary support in armor, artillery, mortars, heavy
machine guns. Shortly after midnight, July 5, the counterattack begins. Carpiquet's defense holds firm against this German offensive: the fighting continues
throughout the night and until dawn. The Germans launch no less than three attacks, all of which will fail and their losses are high. They keep up the pressure,
though, with mortar and rocket launcher fire during the day, but the Canadian defenses hold firm.

The following night, the Germans renewed their offensive against the North Shore Regiment with the support of their artillery. The Canadians, once again, are not
backing down and their opponents are being shot by powerful shots. At the dawn of July 6, 1944 SS soldiers supported by tanks launch a large offensive against
positions held by the Regiment of La Chaudière. The Canadian infantry must retreat while awaiting the salvating support of Sherman tanks that allows it to regain its
original line of defense.

The airfield falls entirely and definitively in the hands of the Canadians on Sunday, July 9, 1944, following Operation Charnwood (launched the day before by the 3rd
Canadian Infantry Division) to take control of Caen from the north and west. . Following a massive bombardment by 450 Royal Air Force aircraft, the La Chaudière
regiment seized the last hangars south of the airfield while the infantrymen of Queen's Own Rifles of Canada seized the barracks.

rico21 -> To Saint-Lo - Stop Whining Start Playing (6/7/2018 10:53:29 AM)

To Saint-Lo

In the spring of 1944, Saint-Lo housed the headquarters of the 84th German Army Corps (LXXXIV Armeekorps). The initial plans of
the Allies foresee the liberation of the city nine days after the beginning of the landing: it plays a major strategic role
insofar as it is a particularly important communication and circulation center in the department of La Manche. Saint-Lo is
under the responsibility of General der Fallschirmtruppe Eugen Meindl commanding II. Fallschirmkorps.

From June 6, 1944, the city of Saint-Lo is bombed by the Allies who aim at the railway station and the power station: every
day for a week, the air raids continue, gradually transforming the town into a pile of ruins and Nearly 800 inhabitants are
killed in the bombardment of the night from June 6th to 7th.

As of July 11, 1944, the Americans of the 29th Infantry Division (Northeast) and 35th Infantry Division (North) are now only
about three kilometers from the city. They are opposed to the survivors of the 352. Infantry Division and the Fallschirmjger
Regiment 9 (3. Fallschirmjger-Division). The progress of the attackers is slow and difficult: they are subject to the permanent
and accurate shots of German gunners who cause heavy losses. Moreover, the torrential rains that poured into the sector Three
movements of land that dominate the region still separate the two camps: north of Saint-Lo point 122, north-east points 147 and
192. 2nd Infantry Division takes the number 192 that same day and the fighting for control of the other two hills begins.

On July 15, the 116th Infantry Regiment (29th Infantry Division) commanded by Colonel Philip R. Dwyer moved southwest of Hill
147 but Hill 122 still did not fall: the 1st Battalion of the 134th Infantry Regiment of the 35th Infantry Division is facing
this movement of ground defended by the Germans, at the height of the hamlet of Emilie. Noting that the Americans are unable
to seize the hill 122, Eugen Meindl reinforces its device by deploying new troops belonging to the 266. Infantry Division: the
Germans take full advantage of this high point by placing their artillery observers who fire deadly shootings as soon as their
opponents make the slightest movement. At 20:30, when they are only about 1,000 meters from the first homes, the Allies launch
a new bombing of German positions in the area of Saint-Lo. The 116th Infantry Regiment (IR) launches a new night-time attack on
the eastern entrance to the city, but the front still does not fall; on the contrary, the 2nd Battalion, under Major Sidney V.
Bingham, Jr., is isolated from the rest of the regiment by German fire, and he has to keep up all night with his men who have
very little ammunition.

JP011: That Which We Hold So Dear. NE of Nijmagen the town of Huissen. September 23, 1944.

History: The bridge at Nijmagen had been secured by the American paratroopers and elements
of the British XXX Corps but the German SS units around Arnhem were determined to deny
the Arnhem bridge from the Allies. While the bulk of 2nd SS Panzer Corps troops were engaged
against the British 1st Airborne west of Arnhem, other SS units and low quality guarrison infantry
troops pressed in against the corridor the Allies were trying to establish into Arnhem. At Huissen,
the British force came under heavy pressure from German attacks all through the day. So far the
attacks in the morning were beaten back but in early afternoon SS infantry supported by
Panther tanks appeared and hammered the British forward positions with accurate tank and
artillery fire. The British troops there were ordered to hold at all costs as General Horrocks
commander of XXX Corps rushed reinforcements to Huissen to check the German advance.

Action at Balberkamp

Balberkamp, Norway 1940-04-22.
After the initial landings at Oslo, the Germans began to move northward, through the valley of the Gudbrandsdalen, towards
Trondheim. The Norwegians and British forces there attempted numerous blocking actions which were largely unsuccessful. One
such was made by elements of Group Ruge outside the village of Balberkamp. Knowing they could not halt panzers, the Norwegians
fully expected British reinforcements to come to their aid in their desperate stand. Displaying superb tactical insight, the
German commander dispatched a lightly armed company in a wide flanking movement to seize the heights behind the enemy position.
Luck was with them, and the Germans were able to establish themselves on the hills just prior to the arrival of the British.

rico21 -> Alsatian Verdun - Alsace II (6/24/2018 9:36:37 AM)

Alsatian Verdun

January 26, 1945 , Jebsheim, Alsace.
It had become apparent as the month of January drew to a close that the hub of resistance, the key, to the entire Colmar Pocket
was the well fortified town of Jebsheim. The capture of Jebsheim was necessary to protect the north flank of the 3rd Division's
advance. The village itself is laid out in a way highly advantageous to the defender. The Battle of Jebsheim was fought from 24
January to 2 February 1945.
General O'Daniel committed the U.S. 254th Infantry Regiment (part of the U.S. 63rd Infantry Division but attached to the U.S.
3rd Infantry Division for the duration of operations in the Colmar Pocket) as the primary US force to capture Jebsheim.
The Allied units who fought in and around Jebsheim were not only US troops but French as well. Among them a battalion of French
paratroopers of the French 1st Parachute Regiment, French tanks of Combat Command 6 (French 5th Armored Division), French
Foreign Legion, a group of Moroccan cavalry and some Resistance forces.
Among the German units where outfits of the schwere Panzerjaeger-Abteilung 654 (heavy Tankhunter Battalion 654) with mighty
Jagdpanther tanks. Jebsheim at this time is held by troops of the German 136th Gebirgsjaeger-Regiment (Mountain Infantry) of
the 2nd Gebirgsjaeger-Division.
Although the town of Jebsheim did not suffer as much destruction as other villages in the Colmar Pocket, it was on its soil
that the most violent and deadly fighting took place at the end of January 1945. Certain liberators still refer to it today as
the "Alsatian Verdun". During the Battle, Jebsheim will change hands for 3 times.

GRANDENHEIM'S LONG & QUIET DAYS DAY OF JANUARY 28th The Fighter of the D.F.L.
"On the 28th, the day rises, another section of the Genie of our D.F.L. ensures the launch of a TREADWAY bridge during a rapid maneuver that takes place in the best conditions, without any reaction from the enemy. At around 10:00, Lieutenant-Colonel PUTZ gives his orders. The attack of GRUSSSENHEIM will be done by the West. C.A. 3 (Captain DUAULT) of the III / R.M.T. reinforced with 2 tanks of the 1st Section of the 2nd Coy of 501 R.C.C. will make, on the axis JEBSHEIMGRUSSENHEIM, a diversion attack. The main action will be commanded by Commander DEBRAY who will have two columns. NORTH: to the orders of the Commander of SAIRIGNE, the 1st Legion Coy (Captain LANGLOIS) reinforced with a section of heavy machine guns of the Legion, the 11th Co. of the R.M.T. (Lieutenant BACHY) and the 3rd section of the 2nd Coy of 501 R.C.C. (Lieutenant LA BOURDONNAYE), which has only 3 tanks. SOUTH: to the orders of the captain of WITASSE, the 2nd Cie of Legion (Captain LANGLOIS), the 12th Cie of R.M.T. (Captain of CASTELLANE) and the 2nd Section (2 tanks) of the 501st R.C.C. (Aspiring RICHARDEAU). - The 3rd Legion Company (Captain MATTEI) will guard the bridge. - The Tanks-Destroyers of the 2nd Platoon of the 2nd Squadron of the R.B.F.M. Aspirant MAYMIL - who will be fatally wounded soon after - will support the main operation. The Artillery must make a 155 shot on objective and prepare the attack from 12:30 to 13h. The time of the opening is set at 13 hours. In the meantime, the units engaged are subjected to almost permanent fire of artillery and automatic weapons. The lieutenant of the BOURDONNAYE is killed by a burst in the chest; two men, on the verge of nervous breakdown due to the intensity of enemy fire, are evacuated. A Tank-Destroyer of the Armored Rifle Regiment on the other side of the BLIND attempts a maneuver, a blow of full whip ignites it in the middle of the bridge and his crew is put out of action (2 killed - 3 wounded).

A tank is able to tow it backwards, too. All other attempts at repair will be in vain, the bridge, which was so difficult to build, will remain unusable and only one tank will be found on the east bank of the BLIND. Around 12:45, the Group Chief of Staff, Major PUIG, confirms the order: GRUSSENHEIM must be taken the same day and Lieutenant-Colonel PUTZ maintains the order already given. Everyone will join his place convinced that the attack, as it is imposed on them, can only lead to a catastrophe. At that moment Father Captain PERIQUET of the 8th R.C.A preceding his Squadron, the 3rd Tank-Destroyer, arrived at the disposal of the 13th D.B.L.E since 22nd January.

It is 12:55, a shell falls in the center of the group formed by Lieutenant-Colonel PUTZ, Commander PUIG and Captain PERIQUET, killing all three. The order is maintained, the attack of GRUSSENHEIM is triggered of 2 sides at the same time. The armored group formed by the C.A.3 of III / R.M.T. and the 2nd Tank Company of the 501st C.C. cross the BLIND to the MILL of JEBSHEIM and approach the village from the South while the 1st and 2nd Legion Companies (1st B.L.E.) will progress from the West.
From the outlet, the Companies are blocked by violent enemy fire, resume in advance in small groups and infiltrate to the slaughterhouse. The armored vehicles of 501 R.C.C. (Arcis-sur-Aube and Montmirail) progress without difficulty and enter the village from the south but can not maintain it for lack of infantry.

lines, but communication difficulties between British paratroopers and General Frederick Browning and the Americans, and enemy
resistance, caused the attack to fail with heavy losses. The 1st Airborne Division, scattered far and wide and hard pressed by
the enemy on all sides, had lost its offensive capability. Unable to help Lt.-Col. Frost, who commanded the only battalion
that had made it to the Arnhem bridge, they approached the Germanline and for several hours attempted to fight through the
German positions...
... The remaining soldiers attempted to withdraw into a defensive pocket at Oosterbeek and hold a bridgehead on the north bank
of the Rhine after overwhelming German resistance.
The parachute elements of the Polish 1st Independent Parachute Brigade had remained in England because of dense fog. Their
gliders, mainly carrying anti-tank guns and vehicles, were able to take off but had the misfortune to arrive above the landing
zone just as the 4th Parachute Brigade was retreating across it and the gliders came under fire from German units pursuing the
Brigade.
