sandman20 -> Greece (sandman) vs. Yugoslavia (Angrydeemon1) (4/8/2003 2:10:00 PM)

Here we go.

Greece (sandman) vs. Yugoslavia (Angrydeemon1) in August 1940.
Large Map
Visibility 10
28 turns.
Buy as much artillery as you want, effectiveness is set to 70% to soft and hard targets.
1 Air, though I hadn't any available.:D
All options ON except C&C.

AD, your turn to purchase your fighting forces.
Let's get ready to rumble, save is in your mailbox.
Good luck to the battle!;)

AngryDeemon1 -> (4/9/2003 3:29:31 AM)

Voiysko Yugoslavia, is fully equiped with Rifles, Guns, Tanks, Ships, ATGMs and Slivovitz and is ready to go.

sandman20 -> (4/9/2003 2:05:10 PM)

The battle have begun!
But it didn't begun well for Greece, they lost couple of motorcyclists and one Bren Carrier in a minute :mad:

Greek's armor support is very weak, we have only those wonderful FT-17's.:rolleyes:
But in some way, it's necessary to kick those Yugoslavian as*es out of our beloved home country.
Pushing forward, with a mass of "brave" infantry!! :D

AngryDeemon1 -> (4/9/2003 11:32:36 PM)

The Battle Rages on, with no mercy, and no casualties on wither side. I take popshots at your scouts, you take popshots at my guys. There is a hidden 37mm aaa somewhere which will be problems:)

sandman20 -> (4/10/2003 12:36:49 AM)

Small skirmishes here and there and both sides lost couple of grunts. :)

Yugoslavian 40mm AA-guns are causing me some problems, it feels that they're everywhere hiding.:mad:
Barrages at the end of turn.

AngryDeemon1 -> (4/10/2003 1:03:13 AM)

Mikholos, the Greek sniper, having hidden himself in the Northern hills, carefully tries to find a target... Ah! what luck a Yugoslavian Scout Patrol, he takes aim.... and never hears the shot that kills him, as he is masterfully taken out by a Yugoslavian counterpart hiding.. somewhere:p The Yugoslavian Sniper goes on to depopulate a Greek scout team.

All across the front, there are light firefights, with Greek infantry squads being driven back in several places, The greeks have plenty of tanks, but our AT gunners are ready for them:mad:. I think I made a mistake in not buying any Yugoslavian scout tanks. They are horribly innacurate, but with 22 and 40 armour respectfully, immune to anything you brought:). At then end of the turn mortar and artillery fire occurs.

If you are cureous that 75mm battery doesnt even cause any surpression to speak of in the current settings.. How are my 100s doing?

sandman20 -> (4/10/2003 3:14:12 PM)

Strange, your mortars and 100mm's causes quite a lot of supression, maybe those Yugoslavians just don't care.:rolleyes:

More minor firefights here and there and both sides lost some more mens.
BTW, I don't count much for my FT-17's, they're slow and they only have 1 MG and poor armors :)
Back to you.

AngryDeemon1 -> (4/11/2003 12:20:46 AM)

From His vantage point in the Olive Orchard, Sgt Valori spots a Greek Scout Patrol trying to sneak around the flank. He takes aim... and wipes it out with a single shot from his sniper Rifle:)

In the North and Center everything is quite, In the South Brave Yugoslavian Soldiers surpress an Infantry Gun and two Machine guns, then bikers rush forward and eliminate the enemy. Fighting continues for the small town in the South as well. Those bren carriers irritate me very much:)

sandman20 -> (4/11/2003 1:28:48 PM)

Quite a capable sniper that Sgt Valori is:)

Hmm...Turn is 4, and I see some AUX units, for example those motorcycles in the south, though most part of them was pushed back by Greece infantry.:rolleyes:
More firefights also in the village where some Yugoslavians was eliminated.

Looks like I'll be soon in troubles in the nearby of southern VH's, hordes of Yugoslavian are coming, artillery fire ordered.:eek:

AngryDeemon1 -> (4/11/2003 10:46:03 PM)

This turn some minor infantry skirmishes occur all along the front followed by the usual art barrages. Your 75mm are still laughably innefective:) and fail to surpress our brave Yugoslavian men. The high point of the turn is when i take out a FT-17 tank with a well placed grenade:)

Yeah I am a looser and called reserves, such as they are... but i needed some mobile troops:)

sandman20 -> (4/14/2003 1:11:32 AM)

More of the same, some men losses to both sides and I lost another FT-17 in Yugoslavian barrage.

One Yugoslavian sniper killed also in the northern flank, maybe he was a famous Sgt. Valori :rolleyes: RIP

AngryDeemon1 -> (4/14/2003 4:08:28 AM)

umm I didnt get a turn:)

sandman20 -> (4/14/2003 12:44:58 PM)

Strange:confused:
I'm sure I sent them.
Well, now I resent and now they should be in your mailbox...at least I hope so:confused: :confused:

AngryDeemon1 -> (4/17/2003 8:44:23 AM)

This turn minor Infantry skirmishes Ocur throughout the map, Several Greek Scout patrols are killed and several tanks assualted for little effect. Artillery continues to rain down upon the battlefield.

In other News, Yugoslavian Hero - Sgt. Valori Has been found dead. Eyewitnesses report he was killed while fighting off three AT Guns and two full squads of Infantry. After a 6 hour shootout, the Greeks, unable to overcome Yugolsvian bravery, offered to let Valori got back to his front lines uncontested if he would stop his defensive fire, he was then shot by a 37mm AT gun in the back.

sandman20 -> (4/17/2003 11:11:10 PM)

Small skirmishes in extent of whole front.
Both sides lost more mens and one more Yugoslavian sniper was too far away from home in the north - He was killed by LMG.:)
Barrages at the end of turn.

What an epic story about Sgt. Valori that was:rolleyes: , though we have different version of his story here in Greece and it's not so heroic :p

AngryDeemon1 -> (4/18/2003 3:51:48 AM)

I resent saves again.

That adress is where I send them always, I don't know why you can't receive them.
Sorry for delay again.:(

AngryDeemon1 -> (4/18/2003 10:15:46 PM)

No problem, got the turn this time.

This turn Cowardly Greeks Loose a Bren Carrier, LMG,Tank, several scout teams and AT squads. Minor Infantry Casualties on both sides.

sandman20 -> (4/18/2003 11:29:01 PM)

More of the same, tough infantry fights and losses to both sides, Greeks lost also 2 more FT-17's :(

Yugoslavian barrage at the end of turn propably caused quite a lot of supression among my troops in the southern flank, not good for me.:mad:

I hope you received the files this time.:)

AngryDeemon1 -> (4/19/2003 12:34:06 AM)

no I dont have it... try ayashkin@hsc.usf.edu. but on this adress you have to rename the zip file to something lie .txt since the firewall bloks zip and exe files

sandman20 -> (4/19/2003 1:22:31 AM)

Ok, check that mailbox, I sent email6.txt there.

It's strange how you can't receive my messages normally, I have not any problems with my other opponents.:confused:

AngryDeemon1 -> (4/19/2003 2:19:49 AM)

This is the first game I am having this kind of trouble with. Played two games with you before with no trouble.. Maybe misspelled adressbook entry?

I was unable to capitalise on your surpressed troops due to the fact that mine were equally scred. I had to content myself with killing some of your crew from an ft-17 tank. Minor casualties occur onboth sides.

sandman20 -> (4/19/2003 3:19:46 PM)

Tough fights in the nearby of central village, menlosses to both sides.
I lost another FT-17 at the Yugoslavians mortar barrage.:mad:

BTW, I always use "Reply to Sender" option, so it can't be mispelled adress.:confused:
Now I sent the files to you twice, and I hope you received at least another of them.

AngryDeemon1 -> (4/19/2003 11:35:24 PM)

I got both files.... strange email.

Anyway Multiple infantry casualties on both sides. You loose two bren carriers.

sandman20 -> (4/20/2003 1:26:39 PM)

Infantry casualties again to both sides, bunch of Yugoslavian AUX FT-17's spotted in the nearby of village (Where are my AT-teams ???:eek: )

AngryDeemon1 -> (4/20/2003 11:45:03 PM)

You loose a whole Evizones squad to 4 Bikers:) A sniper picks of a 20mm aaa team. Misc casuaties all along the front.

sandman20 -> (4/21/2003 1:44:42 PM)

More of the same, quite a lot of Greeks retreated at the end of turn...cowards!:mad:
It feels like both sides are supressed quite heavily because of barrages...

Greek's AUX units arrived finally and they are on their way to the front, where they are really needed right now.

AngryDeemon1 -> (4/21/2003 10:45:06 PM)

Yet More infantry casualties.. I was unable to kill any tanks due to bad luck.. since several were in prime grenade range:) You lost a whole evizones squad. My men are tired with several squads down to 3-4 men.. yet we will fight on! More arty at the end of the turn

sandman20 -> (4/22/2003 1:43:32 AM)

Infantry casualties, smoke and barrages.
It's very difficult to push forward without friendly casualties, there's a wall of mens in the middle section.

Two Yugoslavian motorcycle squads engaged and killed in our rear areas.

AngryDeemon1 -> (4/22/2003 3:51:51 AM)

There is a short lul in the Infantry battle as the Yugoslavian forces regroup. Greek troop concentrations (including those 3mc squads and Engeneer platoon) get healthy doses of 105mm goodness:) The rest of the Greek forces are treated to the now customary mortar barrage:)
