JohnOsb -> Enemy Blowing Bridges (4/21/2016 2:16:18 AM)

Playing a PBEM with bootlegger, he is playing as the Americans and I'm playing as the Soviets. I've never seen this happen before, because of playing the NATO Forces vs AI.

But at the start of the scenario the bridges are showing being intact, but as soon as bootlegger blew all the bridges, I saw all the bridge symbol for blown bridges. Now should that have shown on my map?

I don't have any eyes on any bridge but because it shown on my map, I didn't need to send any recon to those bridges because its shown on my map.

If the bridges were not shown being blown up I would have to send recon to see if the bridges are intact or not. I think that it should be set the way of obstacle, you don't no if they are intact until you get within 500 meters.

What do you think?

I noticed it awhile ago and I think I hinted at it during a 2.0.11 AAR of A Time to Dance.

It does seem strange. Perhaps it's an abstraction of higher-echelon recon assets?

We will look into that. Sounds a bit wonky to me.

It's also impossible to BUILD a sneaky bridge in a quiet part of the line without it popping up on your enemies screen as a shiny new bridge in the middle of nowhere.

Built bridges in the past needed to be spotted. May be part of the issue above. We will have Rob look into it.

We are adding this to the fix in Southern Storm list since it is a deeply layered graphics issue that needs new code to handle map visual elements from each side. Right now when an existing bridge is blown a singular listed graphics element is changing type. This will add more food for thought on how we deal with fog of war going forward.
