Meanwhile in SWPAC

Port Moresby fell the other day and the KB is 8 hexes from Suva and 23 hexes. There is some shipping dropping of troops at Pago Pago but as there are 75 P-39 Fighters over Pago Pago we will keep the unloading going today.

The question is this a raid or a landing? I am confidante that I can hold Pago Pago but Fiji if he can find two divisions could be taken.

The invasion of New Caledonia by Japan is ongoing. Over the last two days the IJA has been landing in force at Noumea and its capture by the Japanese is all but certain. We are looking at several options to reinforce Koumac at the Northern tip but at this time do not see this a likely as the we do not expect the Combined Fleet to leave the area until the island is secure.

NEI
We expect this area to fall completely to the Japanese over the next ninety days. While Force Z has won a major navel victory early on and was able to blunt two more quick thrust for loss of only two Dutch CL’s the Repulse will be under repair in India for the next sixty days, the remaining forces in Java can delay for a while but will be overwhelmed. With the reinforcement of fighters from Singapore we should be able to contested in the air for the next 15 – 30 days before the air force and fleet are forced to withdraw.

PHI
When supplies run out in the next eighty days, it will fall and no relief is possible. While we hold Clark and Bataan it is only a matter of time until our forces are reduced and then fall back on Bataan. Supplies are at 34K between all locations and fortifications are 3 at Bataan and 3 at Clark and building. The IJA is recovering from their last push which was repulsed with heavy losses on their side.

Singapore
We may be able to hold this area longer than it appears, all forces have fallen back to Singapore and are diggings in. Supplies are at 68K and the Forts at 3 and building. The IJA is now marking on Singapore directly --- if we can inflict serious damage and/or disruption as they cross the river we may be able to inflict a serious delay in the timetable for the use of forces now in this theater.

Offensive Operations
Given the imbalance of Naval Forces we do not foresee offensive options on a general front until the end of August or September of this year. We in the process of identifying small local offensive options in each command that can be launched should the location of the KB be defined. But being honest until the front stabilizes we will not be able to define these but it is most likely that New Caledonia will be the primary target.

As always……

rook749 -> RE: Rook749 vs Lam0ttePicquet (DBB028-C) (7/5/2016 11:32:32 PM)

From
CICPAC
to
POTUS

With the withdrawal of the Japanese Naval guard forces, at this time Fiji can be considered secure. While a great victory and much needed by the Public at home. I must stress Mr. President it was not a victory by feat of arms but of positon and logistics. The Japanese chose not to fight and withdrew without any losses of note.

We are looking at several options to reinforce Koumac on New Caledonia at the Northern tip but at this time do not see this a likely as the we do not expect the Combined Fleet to leave the area until the island is secure. The Combined fleet was last seen one day ago eight hexes from Brisbane & Sydney.

NEI
We expect this area to fall completely to the Japanese over the next sixty days. While Force Z has won a major navel victory early on and was able to blunt two more quick thrust for loss of only two Dutch CL’s the Repulse will be under repair in India for the next thirty days, the remaining forces in Java can delay for a while but will be overwhelmed. With the reinforcement of fighters from Singapore we should be able to contested in the air for the next 15 days before the air force and fleet are forced to withdraw. The Mini-KB has been in the area of Celebes and we expect it support the final push, possibly with the Combined Fleet trying to slip in to support undetected.

PHI
When supplies run out in the next sixty days, it will fall and no relief is possible. While we hold Clark and Bataan it is only a matter of time until our forces are reduced and then fall back on Bataan. Supplies are at 30K between all locations and fortifications are 3 at Bataan and 3 at Clark and building. The IJA last push went in our favor at 1:2 odds with IJA taking far more losses and disablements.

Singapore
We may be able to hold this area longer than it appears, all forces have fallen back to Singapore and are diggings in. Supplies are at 65K and the Forts at 3 and building. The IJA has now made its send push for Singapore and was pushed back with more losses and displacements. The fortifications are now back to 3 and climbing. The second assault on the 5th was at 1:5 odds, we expect them to pause to recover and bomb from the air for a week or two.

Burma
The rail line to Mandalay has been cut with the loss of Magwe but the road is still open. We are working forces from Akyab to ensure a LOC for withdrawal once Rangoon falls. We may lose the forces that currently have stopped the IJA cold at Pegu but plan is to use the British 7th Armored Brigade to cover the final withdrawal.

Australia
Two IJA Army Divisions that took Port Moresby could be used to take territory on the eastern coast, we do not believe this to be likely but the possibly can’t be overlooked as the Combined Fleet was seen one day ago eight hexes from Brisbane and Sydney. Forces will be moved into strategic mode on both coasts to redeploy in the event of a landing.

We were hoping the combined fleet attempted to strike at the shipping in Brisbane as there are 100 P-40E’s, one Heavy AA ACU and one Light AA ACU deployed here. Melbourne has some small shipping and two Dutch ARD’s which could also be a target and is protected by 25 P-40E’s. The shipping has been cleared out of Auckland until the 75 P-40E’s in route land in seven days.

Offensive Operations
Given the imbalance of Naval Forces we do not foresee offensive options on a general front until the end of August or September of this year. Three small strategically offensive operations are being executed as will details to you tomorrow – Black & Blue + Purple.

As always……

We will see if my fall back lines in the mountains can hold, but I really have no idea what I am doing in China! Supply has started to be an issue in this area but now that I am out of the city it should ease up as I would need 3x the supply for all of those forces.

Melbourne, or Bust?

ARD's and CV still intact.

1. Are they going to make a full loop and come out by the NEI?
2. Go a little farther and then come back to New Caledonia?
3. Start to withdraw back to New Caledonia now to refuel/rearm?

I am really hoping for 1 or 2, but I think I can make 3 work for me as well.

Air Losses for the Turn and Game

I can keep up these losses in Burma and over Oz for a little while longer before I run out of reserves. The Hurricane IIb just had the 1st ACU hit the front line and the P-39's are not yet on the front line.

Please find a brief summary for the following strategic offensive operations. We are using the term “strategic offensive” as they are not designed to project force into areas currently under control of the empire of Japan but push our forces into areas that will allow for future operations or force the commitment of theater levels forces by Japan to secure.

Operation Black and Blue
Marine Raider Bn and supporting base forces will land and secure Canton and Baker Islands.

The 3rd Marine Raider Bn and 49th Base Group will land and reinforce Canton BLACK. The 142nd Standard USN Base Force holds this island behind level three forts.

The 2nd Marine Raider Bn and 38th Base Group will land and secure Baker BLUE.

Operation Purple
The 27th Infantry Division will land at Suva along with over 20,000 supplies. Several base forces will follow in the next thirty days.

Operation Red and White
Operations to secure Vaitupu RED and WHITE Funafui are being reviewed. We are looking at using forces in theater but no units have been identified at this time.

Pink
An operation to secure Raoul Island Pink is being reviewed. We are looking at using forces in theater but no units have been identified at this time. An airfield on this island would allow fighters to be moved from New Zealand to Fiji and the surrounding islands.

As always……

rook749 -> RE: Rook749 vs Lam0ttePicquet (DBB028-C) (7/8/2016 11:30:15 PM)

Not much to report in the last two days, the air war in Burma is shifting towards his side. We will stand down for a day or three and redeploy our forces again but there is now one light AA ACU in Rangoon which will slow down any bombing.

The KB is looking around south of Melbourne most likely to withdraw to New Caledonia to refuel/rearm.

rook749 -> RE: Rook749 vs Lam0ttePicquet (DBB028-C) (7/9/2016 3:41:35 AM)

Well it seems he may have split the KB, some of it is in New Caledonia. The RAN conducted a raid at Noumea and given we both were unaware of the forces from the other side I think it went well.

It is good to know that he will split the KB from time to time. The Main KB is 42 hexes from this KB Splinter. The Allied CV fleet is 40 hexes from the Splinter KB. I will look at seeing if I can catch him separated but it does not look likely.

It is possible two more DD and two more CLs could get caught at sea and sunk if this go very badly.

Ground combat at Singapore (50,84)

As he has not escorted him bombers the last three turns, we are going to move the air force back to hold the skies. This should force him to move some of the fighters out of Burma so I can contest the air there with less losses for a bit longer.

Not Much to Report the last two days.

The KB and KB Splinter dropped off the map. They are either heading to New Zealand to hit Auckland, on the way back to New Caledonia/Rabaul or running silent south of Australasia and are going to sneak up on Perth. Pretty much ready for all three. We had a nice day in the air over Singapore, he will have to pull some fighters back from Burma to sweep/escort.

A Quick Update

We have moved forward five days, the KB is now northwest of New Caledonia and appears to be in route to Rabaul/Truk. Horn Island, Amchitka and parts of Southern Borneo have fallen but Singapore holds fast. A more detailed update on the mess in Burma and the rest of the map should come later tonight.

Not a good sign the the forts were not reduced after taking those losses. might want to bomb then for awhile and rebuild your forces before another assault. Taking Singapore after mid-Feb with equal forces will only work if he is out of supply, which he is not. Get ready for a long siege.

From
CICPAC
to
POTUS

Please find a brief summary for the following for Pacific Theater of Operations. With the Combined fleet withdrawing north towards Rabaul or Truk --- it was last sighted two days ago northwest of New Caledonia.

it is unknown at this time where the next offensive will land, the most likely options are a full push to clear out the area around New Caledonia or fall back and speed the conquest of the NEI.

We are looking at several options to reinforce Koumac on New Caledonia at the Northern tip but at this time do not see this a likely the location of the Combined Fleet is no longer fixed.

The IJA and IJN have been securing bases on the southeaster side of Borneo advancing their air cover.

PHI
When supplies run out in the next sixty days, it will fall and no relief is possible. While we hold Clark and Bataan it is only a matter of time until our forces are reduced and then fall back on Bataan. Supplies are at 28K between all locations and fortifications are 3 at Bataan and 3 at Clark and building. The IJA last push went in our favor at 1:2 odds with IJA taking slightly more losses and disablements --- soon all losses will start to favor the IJA.

Singapore
We will be able to hold this area far longer than planned, all forces have fallen back to Singapore and are diggings in. Supplies are at 61K and the Forts at 2 and building. The IJA has now made its third push for Singapore and was pushed back with far more losses and displacements than were suffered by the allies. The air force returned for a one-day air battle as fighter for this front moved to Burma --- 41 Japanese bombers were shot down for no allied losses. There have been 20 – 60 Japanese Fighters in the air after this incident should they withdraw again the allied fighters will return.

Burma
The rail line and roads to Mandalay has been cut supplies are fine and if required we can support this front from the air. Neither side has a valid/active road path for supply and as long as he can’t base an air force in this area we should be able to hold as forces take positions in the jungle to allow the forces around Rangoon to pull out when required.

We may lose the forces that currently have stopped the IJA cold at Pegu but plan is to use the British 7th Armored Brigade to cover the final withdrawal. The forces that are holding Pegu should be able to hold as along as supply holds out (40K) and the air force can contest the skies to allow supply runs. We are currently trading airframes at a 2:1 or 3:2 ratio three or four days a week, airframes pools are holding but not growing.

Australia
Two IJA Army Divisions that took Port Moresby could be used to take territory on the eastern coast, we do not believe this to be likely but the possibly can’t be overlooked as the Combined Fleet has raided the eastern cost twice. Forces will be moved into strategic mode on both coasts to redeploy in the event of a landing.

As the existing USA Fighter ACU are set to withdraw next month, efforts are underway to bring three US ACU’s to the area for replacement.

Operation Black and Blue
Marine Raider Bn and supporting base forces are currently landing to and secure Canton and Baker Islands.

The 3rd Marine Raider Bn and 49th Base Group landed to reinforce Canton BLACK. The 142nd Standard USN Base Force holds this island behind level three forts.

The 2nd Marine Raider Bn and 38th Base Group landed to secure Baker BLUE.

Operation Purple
The 27th Infantry Division is ashore along with over 20,000 supplies. Several base forces will follow in the next thirty days.

Operation Red and White
Operations to secure Vaitupu RED and WHITE Funafui are being reviewed. We are looking at using forces in theater but no units have been identified at this time.

Pink
An operation to secure Raoul Island Pink is underway. A USAF Base Force is ashore and we are looking to find an in-theater ground unit. An airfield on this island would allow fighters to be moved from New Zealand to Fiji and the surrounding islands.

As always……
