JA43 i2 Naval Combat
CSV rnd one search rolls of 3/5 resulted in the axis finding and engaging the 3-box only with 0 SP. Naval air was called.
Both rolled 17's resulting in the aborting of the German bomber (I assumed you abort my bomber and not the lead fighter with your AA) and the destruction of the Sunderland.

In the second round the Germans flew the He177 to the 1-box, but the search rolls of 10/7 ended the combat in this area.

and onto the North Sea. Rnd 1 search rolls of 1/5 resulted in the Germans finding and engaging the 3-box in a Naval Air combat. Ge have 2 SP.
I struggled with completing the air combat (lost forms - not hidden because I could move the windows around - and miss typing on redo's had me working over an hour). I had not taken complete notes during the first A-A, so the rolls shown below are not all accurate, but the result is what happened.

I forgot to image the AA (so frustrated by the other stuff at that time), but you screened 2 points which nullified the bomber and I never got the chance to use the 2 SP.

N Sea rnd two, search rolls of 3/1 resulted in both sides finding, but the allies had 4 SP, which I used to avoid the combat (hope that was a good decision from your perspective).

These last two sequences show the randomness of the A-A fights. Out gunned +/- 6 and +/- 7 in the CSV and N. Sea, the allies were still able to do well in the A-A combat and achieve the results they needed (aborting the bomber in the CSV and getting rid of the two best GE fighters in the North Sea - hurting future impulses).

JA43 i3 weather roll, preparing for bad weather.
The Germans have moved 4 corp to the Turkish border, so negotiations should be concluding soon. They also debarked a MECH corp to Oslo. The men are awfully glad not to be heading to the Eastern Front.

JA43 i4:

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (12/2/2017 1:03:04 AM)

JA43 i4:
Germany and Japan take land actions.
Italy takes a combined action.
Italy moves one fighter air unit to the CSV 1-box.
Three CA move from La Spezia to the W. Med and each loads a division.

Initiated combat in the E. Med. On rolls 4/8 the Italian air unit finds the CW navy and engages both boxes (0 and 1).
I had the Common Wealth abort after the first round. The only ship left in the zone was the damaged CA and it was most likely to get sunk if it stayed, though there was a chance it could take out the Italian CP. If you wish I can redo the combat and have him stay for round 2.
ON the abort, I had the undamaged aborted CA go to Aden, that seemed safer than staying in Egypt with the Turks coming. I did not have it try to make it through the Arabian Sea. Again, if you wish it different I can redo those decisions.

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (12/2/2017 1:04:27 AM)

The Italian have also initiated combat in the CSV. Nobody else reacted out on the Axis side.
The CW could react several units if you wish.

rkr1958 -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (12/2/2017 1:49:20 PM)

1. Decisions make for allies in East Med were correct. Thanks.

2. No (additional) air reactions into Cape St. Vincent.

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (12/3/2017 1:26:06 AM)

CSV searches were 7/5 for no combat

JA43 i4 ground strikes.
Germany has 3, one up near Mannerheim, one on Moscow with ART, and one in the south. You can intercept the one in the south, though I have a good fighter that can counter intercept. Will you?

The Soviets will intercept.

JA43 i4 Ground strike air combat. Average rolls resulted in bomber clearing.

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (12/3/2017 8:09:33 PM)

JA43 i4 two land attacks declared. I declined HQ emergency supply for Wavell in Eygpt. In Caspians, it is not so clear, so I'll leave it to you to decide. You could supply two of the three units being attacked, with the HQ being disorganized at the end of the land combats.

rkr1958 -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (12/3/2017 10:03:01 PM)

Yes to emergency supply.

ashkpa -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (12/4/2017 4:50:32 AM)

Attacks went from automatic, to rolls needed with the extra supply. However, both hexes were still lost on "average" attack rolls (some disorganization and a divisional loss for the Germans)

I reorganized a few air units in Spain.
Weather roll of 9 resulted in the same weather as before (a net 10).

The Turks are quickly taking control of those areas ceded to them during the negotiations with the Germans.

Courtenay -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (12/6/2017 4:48:07 AM)

How is the Syrian territorial in supply? The Allied CP in the Eastern Med was sunk this impulse, so it can't be sea supplied, and it is a Syrian unit, not a French unit, so that it does not cooperate with anybody but the Free French, so it can't trace Palestine. I am confused.

(I am assuming that Syria is NOT the Free French home country.)

Rijssiej -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (12/6/2017 9:07:10 AM)

Syria is the Home Country for the territorial so Beirut is a primary supply source for the unit.

Ah, of course. My apologies.

rkr1958 -> RE: Pat vs Ronnie GW AAR (12/7/2017 11:44:18 PM)

Looking at my position in Africa and Norway it's clear that I've reached my high water mark. In Russia, it's clear that my position was continue to worsen with no hope of recovering. Therefore, I think it's time, well really past time, that I resign.

No doubt, I was out played but the much better player. Thanks for the game.

I wish to thank all that followed our AAR.
