Playing against Pat is like dying a death from a 1000 cuts. There's no one major blow, with the exception of losing Gibraltar, that I feel he's delivered to me. It just steady and constant body blows from him. I am learning a lot playing against Pat.

Good catch! No, the weren't. The USA took a land. I have no clue why the USA didn't show up? A bug possibly?

Stalin has dispatched Molotov to Tokyo to meet with the Japanese foreign affairs minister, Yosuke Matsuoka concerning the Japanese military buildup on the Soviet-Manchuria border. While Stalin is confident that the Soviet-Japanese non-aggression pact currently in place and set to expire on August 31, 1942 will be honored, he's a bit concerned with what the Japanese will do on September 1, 1942. His spy in Tokyo, Richard Sorge is sending his (Stalin's) intelligence officers disturbing reports that the Japanese have designs on precious Soviet resources on the Vladivostok front to include 2 non-oil RPs and 4 oil points stockpiled in Biagovyeshchensk.

In the meantime, Stalin has ordered that his Red Army and Air forces use oil stored at Biagovyeshchensk first before consuming Soviet oil stores elsewhere.

Pat - Apparently there's a bug in 2.3.1, which I just posted: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4212950
that will not allow game files to be saved and reopened successfully between countries during the use oil phase. I have confirmed that if I go all the way through the use oil phase to the unit breakdown phase and save that file that it can be successfully reopened at that point.

So, below is the axis oil situation.

1. If you give me your instructions for the axis oil usage I'll go ahead and execute them and get us to the breakdown phase.

2. Also, if you can provide me instructions for axis breakdown I'll go ahead and execute those and get us to the next phase after that.

Germany will use the saved oil in Berlin to reorganize the entire force.
Italy will use 1 saved oil in Florence to reorganize all but two ships (Conte Di Cavour and the Littorio).
The Japanese will use the 4 NEI resources and the saved oil in Palembang (total of 5) to reorganize the entire force.

The USA the quite large stockpile of French oil saved in Beirut to reorganize their units. Through they didn't want to use any CW oil, they were forced to use the 0.6 oil point in Calgary leftover from the CW first before they could get to the French oil in Beirut even though the French also had a fractional point leftover in Beirut.
