Got a game save just before the game goes boom!

It's a 6mb file so sent to JimS offline.

Load up the game save, click on an aircraft to make an airstrike, click on the map, click back on the aircraft and boom!

Hope this helps,

B

Crash popup attached.

battlerbritan try and send it to me at crbelva@comcast.net
Capn D is suppose to be out most of the weekend and I can look at it in the morning

Jack54, you want the players edition 2.06 as the starter. Then update to 2.0.01b. Then you can go Betas with 11.2 for the maps and then 11.6 for the latest EXE.

To battlerbritain, Got the file, thanks. I was able to duplicate the crash. I have bumped it upstairs for Rob to look at.

BeirutDude -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (7/19/2016 2:52:30 PM)

Questions...

1. Does it matter when the files were originally created. When I created the Bad Neustadt scenarios I had the 11.5 Beta installed.
2. If I update with a production version, the current 11.5, does that change anything?
3. Next question if I am working on Scenarios should I NOT load the Beta versions?????

Al

cbelva -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (7/19/2016 4:13:52 PM)

I will let Jim chime in on these questions too, but it shouldn't be a problem working on a scenario even with the beta--I do it all the time. You may want to replay your scenario to make sure you don't have to make any adjustments to it due to changes in the exe code. If say the programmers makes some adj with combat accuracy or arty effectiveness, you may need to made some adjustments as to play balance. But normally, these changes do not break a scenario.

A big issue that you want to watch out for is if you are using any of the official data files and we make some change to it. Then you need to refresh your scenario in the editor to update the data in your scenario. I don't believe there was any changes to the data files between 11.5 and 11.6.

CapnDarwin -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (7/19/2016 4:15:21 PM)

Al, the only time there is an issue is if the data files were updated. At that point a scenario should be refreshed to capture any changes. If you are playing PBEM you will want to have the same game version as your opponent to avoid a version conflict. The beta is stable and building with it should not cause any issues. Plus you can always refresh the data when the full update rolls out.

Lowlaner2012 -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (8/10/2016 9:29:40 AM)

Hi Capn, how is the packaging going with the 11.6 official?

Cheers

CapnDarwin -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (8/10/2016 1:07:34 PM)

We are finishing up one PBEM++ item, getting the documents updated and getting files checked out and gathered up. The goal is to hand the package off to Matrix this weekend and then it is a week or two to loop it through and get it into a release slot. I will let you guys know when we send the package up. [8D]

Lowlaner2012 -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (8/10/2016 1:15:36 PM)

Looking forward to it Capn, thanks :-)

Panzer_Leader -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (8/12/2016 2:49:41 AM)

Agreed, I'm looking forward to seeing the changes 11.6 brings. It may be time to think about scheduling another PBEM H2H with my OPFOR.

Lowlaner2012 -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (8/12/2016 10:06:40 AM)

Hey panzer leader, if you are looking for a game I will give you one when 11.6 has been released :-)

Panzer_Leader -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (8/14/2016 10:12:24 PM)

Thanks highlandcharge, I'd be up for that, let's pencil it in.

Deathtreader -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (8/23/2016 11:14:48 PM)

Hi,

Just wondering how the full on 2.0.11 update is coming along? [sm=innocent0001.gif]

Thanks.

Rob.

Lowlaner2012 -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (8/23/2016 11:58:54 PM)

+1

Looking forward to getting some pbems going...

CapnDarwin -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (8/24/2016 3:10:21 AM)

Last of the files went to Rob for final packaging this evening. Going to Matrix from there. Then they need to do their thing to get the installers done. So we are in the home stretch. [:D]

Will this update/replace the old .png with the new .jpg maps?

CapnDarwin -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (8/25/2016 7:37:58 PM)

Harry, yes it will. The game can use both, but will default now to the JPG versions if both are in the maps folder.

tbridges -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (8/25/2016 9:42:02 PM)

When will the update for my Steam version become available?

CapnDarwin -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (8/25/2016 10:34:08 PM)

Tom, usually a few days after the Matrix version goes up. Depends on when they can get the packages into the system on Steam.

Lowlaner2012 -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (8/25/2016 10:42:48 PM)

Good stuff, thanks Capn :-)

Panzer_Leader -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (8/26/2016 2:34:56 AM)

Great, thanks for the update. Looking forward to it.

kipanderson -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (8/29/2016 10:16:30 PM)

Hi,

hadn't played for a while but did install and play this beta.

Hugely good fun.. fantastic wargame.. had forgotten how good it is. Reminded me of the reports you read/lessens learnt from the confrontation in Ukraine. You have keep moving or artillery will kill you.

You can only Hold for a short time.. even if things are going well for the defender. Then move or you will be hit by a massive strike of some sort.

Anyway.. great wargame..
All the best,
kip.

CapnDarwin -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (8/29/2016 10:58:55 PM)

Kip, welcome back. The full update should be out soon. We put a good deal of work into this update. We fixed a number of bugs, added some cool new features, and tweaked a ton of items to make the game play faster and better.

kipanderson -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (8/30/2016 6:34:24 AM)

Capn Darwin,

yup.. It looks fantastic too..

With my favourite mix of options and such I love just sitting back watching the turn play out.

All the best,
kip.

Thomasew -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (9/9/2016 6:06:53 PM)

Hi,

Has the patch vaporised ... ??

What could, .. possibly, .. be taking so long ?

Cheers
Tom

CapnDarwin -> RE: 2.0.11.6 Open Beta Released!!! (9/9/2016 8:00:03 PM)

We got the installer from Matrix the other day and we are working on checking it out. That process is being slowed by my bad internet connection and being unable to upload the installer for the rest of our team to test out. We are working the issues and the full update should be seen soon. Hang in there. [8D]
