Glad I inspired you to take a look at it. I seem to remember it ending fairly abruptly, but a number of these Cold War gone hot titles do (Red Army springs to mind). I guess it’s hard to end a World War Three novel neatly if you want to avoid a nuclear Armageddon...

Here we go, then, gotta love the smell of new (at least to me, in this case) books in the morning [:)]

I will start with von Mellenthin, then check how the First Clash plays into his vision [sm=happy0065.gif]

Team Yankee ,

In my opinion , is not only a good read , its also a excellent way to ease the learning curve for FP:RS . A fantastic introduction to Cold War era warfare and the US Army structure of the day , it also gives a very clear and accurate look at what the "planned" overall Strategy for NATO was if things went HOT .

I would very much recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about that time in history . Even more so if someone was looking for a good first read on the subject . Its a fast paced story and will lead you to want more, and that "Screams" for the what i would offer as a follow up to it, Mr. Clancy and the timeless RED STORM RISING. After these two, the World is your oyster , you have so much to choose from on the topic , you almost cannot go wrong.

Again, nothing more than one mans opinion , Cheers !

P.S. Come on Garger , finally removed your head from your arse , only to loose it again. :P
