John 3rd -> Shifting to Allies (9/11/2017 3:50:47 AM)

OK. Time to begin with the Allies.

Just fixed a nagging problem with the Colorado-Class. The upgrade was set to skip the first one and move to second in late-43. Brian spotted this issue and it is now fixed. Don't know how long it has been there but now we're OK there. Considering we have an additional Colorado BB (Washington), this is a good thing to fix!

We got that ID issue fixed earlier.

Are there other ALLIED bugs out there that needs to be looked at?

John 3rd -> RE: Shifting to Allies (9/11/2017 4:01:43 PM)

The Allies gain Washington as a Colorado-Class BB. This opens up the name of the RL Washington to another state. Nominations?

John 3rd -> Japanese Additions to Kaigun (9/11/2017 4:19:33 PM)

Looks like I have the final additions/changes to the Kaigun based on the Treaty changes and discussion here:

Capital Ships
BB Tosa (Kaga-Class)
BC Ishitaka (Amagi-Class)
LBC Chichibu (Chichibu-Class 2x2 16" Guns)

Carriers
Soryu Built as Hiryu-Class
CVLs Ryukaku (33 Planes) and Karasu (33 Planes)

CAs
The first two of the Mogami-Class are built as 8" CAs

CLs
There are still four Mogami-Class 6" CL with Tone and Chikuma being built as planned with 6" Turrets. These four ships start available for immediate conversion to 8" turrets but they need 90+ Days for the work to be done.

SS
Japan gains several more ML SS and 5 long-range I-Boats of the earliest classes.

John 3rd -> RE: Japanese Additions to Kaigun (9/11/2017 4:37:42 PM)

American Additions/Changes due to Treaty Modifications:

Capital Ships
BB Washington (Colorado-Class)
BC Constellation (Lexington-Class)
BC Constitution (Constitution-Class 4x3 12" Guns)

Carriers
CV Wasp built as Yorktown-Class

Subs
A total of 9 large Americans SS are built. There are 3 Argonaut, 3 Narwhal, and 3 Flying Fish (carrying 1 Gadfly Recon Plane)

Why would you not have Soryu as her own class? The had to build her to figure out how to build Hiryu.

Oregon. Because it's in the same neighborhood....GP

BillBrown -> RE: Shifting to Allies (9/11/2017 5:18:53 PM)

Georgia, give Dan his due.

Are there alternate upgrade paths in case a Japanese player does NOT want to upgrade the Mogamis and Tones to 8" rifles?

John 3rd -> RE: Japanese Additions to Kaigun (9/11/2017 8:40:49 PM)

YES. The conversion is optional. You can progress them as CAs or CLs.

Oregon sounds good but I have to honor my longtime opponent and christen the USS Georgia...tip of the hat to Dan!

ah... politics

BillBrown -> RE: Japanese Additions to Kaigun (9/11/2017 9:47:11 PM)

What is interesting is that both USS Oregon( BB-3 ) and USS Georgia( BB-15 ) were BBs constructed earlier and decommissioned.

John 3rd -> RE: Japanese Additions to Kaigun (9/12/2017 3:27:34 AM)

So it does work...

Would the crew have called her the 'PEACH?' [:D]

The dreadnaught era USS Oregon was a museum ship in Portland when the war began and the Navy took her to scrap her for the steel. After starting the job, they decided they didn't need her for scrap and turned her into a barge instead. It was a rather ignoble end for such a notable ship. I'm sure the people of Oregon would have been thrilled to have a fast battleship named the Oregon.

John 3rd -> RE: Shifting to Allies (9/12/2017 1:40:51 PM)

...agreed Bill but Georgia might threaten to secede again during this naming crisis. We cannot have that. It might offend a particularly charming, southern man that makes his presence known here. Sacrifices must be made--for the sake of the nation! [:'(]

John 3rd -> RE: Shifting to Allies (9/12/2017 3:31:13 PM)

Here is a first pass at American construction of the USS Ranger. She looks rather heavily armored and MEAN! Specs are taken from Page 231 Option 8 of Friedman's book.

ny59giants -> RE: Shifting to Allies (9/12/2017 3:35:59 PM)

Why is she showing up under IJN OOB, not Allies?

btd64 -> RE: Shifting to Allies (9/12/2017 4:00:06 PM)

Why Ranger? Ranger is CV4. Which would also be a fine addition....GP

John 3rd -> RE: Shifting to Allies (9/12/2017 4:43:05 PM)

I've thought of bringing in the RL Ranger to the Mods.

One of the Fast BCs was to be named ranger so I went with that. If someone else has a good, appropriate name, I'll name her and the class that.

She is where she is due to not having any room in the Allied new classes area...

The first six frigates that were built were:
Chesapeake
Constitution
President
United States
Congress
Constellation

If you decide to bring CV-4 Ranger in, I have some interesting historical and hypothetical ideas for her.

btd64 -> RE: Shifting to Allies (9/12/2017 5:06:03 PM)

How about USS Hawaii. The Alaska class is named after a US Territory so Hawaii is a US Territory....GP

I have art for Ranger, Somewhere....GP

John 3rd -> RE: Shifting to Allies (9/12/2017 5:09:19 PM)

I like Chesapeake. DONE!

Send them my good Gen. Patton.

John 3rd -> RE: Shifting to Allies (9/12/2017 5:09:55 PM)

Just cannot resist---isn't she a PEACH!!??[sm=00000947.gif]

John 3rd -> RE: Shifting to Allies (9/12/2017 5:39:49 PM)

Got to go to work.

Other stuff done:
1. Deleted ships that no longer are used with Treaty Modifications.
2. Added BB Washington to OOB. Starts at Pearl.
3. Brought back BB Mississippi due to changes in Treaties. She is with her sisters in Pearl.
4. Chesapeake added to OOB and placed with the Scouting Force at Jarvis Isle.
5. Took care of all FP needs for these ships. Chesapeake carries six. Kind of get a Tone-Class Scout wessel with those.

John 3rd -> RE: Shifting to Allies (9/12/2017 7:25:02 PM)

I think we could seriously look at bringing the ill-equipped Ranger to the Pacific.

btd64 -> RE: Shifting to Allies (9/12/2017 7:55:19 PM)

I'm gathering information about Ranger at this moment....GP

John 3rd -> RE: Shifting to Allies (9/12/2017 11:01:11 PM)

Wow. I got lots of stuff on Ranger from three different players. THANKS!

We have the USS Ranger entering the Panama Canal April 28, 1944. Four DDs come as her escort.

John 3rd -> RE: Shifting to Allies (9/13/2017 12:41:29 AM)

Have Posted the newest working BTS File to the website. Download and take a look. I'd say--except for some art--we're pretty much done with this one and can get ready to move to BTSL.

ny59giants -> RE: Shifting to Allies (9/13/2017 12:38:19 PM)

Naka Ha-44 comes in 5/43.

Its the engine for 1st Jill (2/43) and 2nd gen Liz (3/43). The engine factory is 20 damaged at start. I have mine expanded to 200, but you get only 1 point per 100 factory size.

Thus, it should be moved up to 3/43 from 5/43. Right now (I'm in early Jan 43) I will not get the Jill or Liz until 3/43.

John 3rd -> RE: Shifting to Allies (9/13/2017 1:12:56 PM)

Good catch.

Did you, or anyone else, find anything else?
