The Fuhrer is furious with Goring! The Russians have starting bombing Berlin! They are small raids of no more than 12 aircraft from their Navy base along the Estonia Baltic coast region. They are DB-3 Torpedo bombers. What a propaganda victory for them. Less than two months ago, our Luftwaffe drove them from the skies and now they are bombing our capital!

It is fortunate for our civilians that we have completed several bombing shelters inside our new flak towers defending Berlin. The largest one built at the zoo can hold over 60,000 civilians.

EwaldvonKleist -> RE: PITAMAN vs M60A3TTS - A German Perspective (10/27/2016 11:27:11 PM)

Leningrad seems to be very well defended. I am a noob but M60 managed to force you into a western approach to Leningrad what is good for him.

M60A3TTS -> RE: PITAMAN vs M60A3TTS - A German Perspective (11/3/2016 7:57:51 PM)

We're 10 turns ahead of the AAR at the moment, so it should be safe to make some comments based on what Pitaman posted so far.

39th Panzerkorps from PG3 was identified early on in the area of AGN. The defense has been pressured, but no German breakthrough was achieved.

At the Smolensk land bridge, PG2 was short at least one panzerkorps that was sent south. That made the defense more easily managed. The breach of the Dnepr line was not unexpected and the troops fell back in good order.

In the south, the panzers forced their way through swampy ground after two divisions were rebuffed trying to form a bridgehead over the river. Given the added supply difficulties for the Axis troops, that was an acceptable outcome. The lack of Soviet troops in the southern penetration was deliberate. No strategic objectives were in that immediate area.

Industrial evacuations have proceeded at a good pace. Should end up with 200 or so HI by the end of summer. Arms losses are unavoidable, but should not be excessive (300+). No issues with tank factories as neither Kiev nor Leningrad are immediately threatened.

Despite the losses to the Soviets, their manpower is up by 600K to 4.3M. They have slightly more guns, 44K vs. 42K. Their AFV strength is down to 8.5K vs. 21K. Their Air Force is at 5K vs. 11k.

Turn 9 Ground Casualties

[image]http://i.imgur.com/pJl2Dmg.png[/image]

Our casualties continue to grow. We have now lost more men than we did in our entire French campaign last year, 168K vs 156K. There appears to be no end in sight to this campaign. We have inflicted heavy losses on the Soviets but they continue to fight. I think the Fuhrer might be wrong about their country being a rotten structure ready to fall.

[image]http://i.imgur.com/hW1oXZo.png[/image]

OKM is reporting a significant victory this week. During the Soviet naval evacuation of Tallin, they were able to sink over 25 large merchant ships, 9 small merchant ships, 5 destroyers, 2 minesweepers 2 subs and inflicted serious damage to the cruiser Kirov. Most of these losses were caused by our mines and our torpedo boats. They are calling it the Russian Dunkirk!

Turn 9 Aug 17 - 23, 1941 OKW Weekly Intel Status

[image]http://i.imgur.com/u9oySno.png[/image]

[image]http://i.imgur.com/vWKtvi5.png[/image]

Our Wolf pack caught up with a British Convoy southwest of Brest. We believe it was heading for Gibralter and the Mediterrian Sea. We sank 6 cargo ships, one passenger ship, one Corvette escort ship and a destroyer, now called the HMS Bath, which was once the USS Hopewell. one of the 50 WWI destroyers the US gave England. We are not at war with America but they are helping England.

We are also hearing about a secret meeting between PM Churchill and President Roosevelt off the coast of Newfoundland. We don't know what happened at the meeting but you can be sure the British were asking more help from the Americans. How can we win this war if the Americans keep interfering on the side of England. They did issue a public announcement called the Atlantic Charter that states the US is on the British side, but not at war. Who knows what help the Americans promised the British.

[image]http://i.imgur.com/VsbErqh.png[/image]

Our Commerce raider, Komet, also sunk a British cargo ship near the Galapagos Islands, off the coast of Equador.
