If users of the mod have wishes for a future upgraded version, it's the place to list these wishes[:'(] : what is needed to modify or improve the mod ?

Thank you for this superb card [;)]

It works thunder [:D]

We can see the units much better: we can concentrate on their movements with great ease

Congratulations! [&o]

As many have said, excellent mod. The vanilla is too dark and seems very cluttered in comparison to your mod. Well done.[:)]

fritzjoel -> RE: Board game mod ( ready to use + New upload to simplify install) (4/3/2018 2:20:26 AM)

When I click on the MediaFire link in the first post, I get an error message that the file is invalid or has been deleted. Is this mod still available?

Thanks!

fritzjoel -> RE: Board game mod ( ready to use + New upload to simplify install) (4/3/2018 2:39:11 PM)

Here is Welk's response:

Hi,

I am afraid not, because I had some technical pb in my Mediafire account and some files were accidentally deleted. Sorry for that, but you may ask on the forum : I THINK LOT OF SC3 players have downloaded this mod and they could upload it for you.

If someone wants to upload again this mod everywhere, I give the permission without pb, this mod is free and may be modified if players want to do so.

Regards,
Welk

Would anyone be willing to share or upload a copy of the latest version of Welk's board game mod for me?

Thanks!

Hairog -> RE: Board game mod ( ready to use + New upload to simplify install) (4/3/2018 8:12:50 PM)

Try this link to my copy. I haven't looked at it so it may have some extra stuff like some of my modified counters. Just throw them away if you don't want them.

I love this map mod. Hope more people use it. Thanks again Welk!

The download link is no longer valid.

Did you try the one in Post 65? It works for me just now.

Hairog,

Would it be possible for you to zip these files into a single file? Mediafire will not allow the download of more than one file at a time. Thanks.

Hairog -> RE: Board game mod ( ready to use + New upload to simplify install) (5/8/2018 2:35:42 AM)

I'll try it again but last time it wouldn't let me for some reason.

NEW LINK

Uncle Lumpy -> RE: Board game mod ( ready to use + New upload to simplify install) (5/8/2018 8:34:41 PM)

Hi Hairog. Thank you for the new download link. Purchased the game less than a week ago. Still working my way through the forum. Was excited to find this mod. I'm really old school (early 70's board gamer), and this really takes me back. [:D] And HUGH thanks to welk for the excellent work!!!

Hairog -> RE: Board game mod ( ready to use + New upload to simplify install) (5/9/2018 5:45:12 AM)

I'm glad I had some room left on MediaFire and or DropBox. This mod deserves to be preserved and disseminated. Just a great job by Welk.

Never one to be completely statisfied I boosted the roads, rivers, hills and high mountains a little. Don't worry it is not in the download. It is pure Welk.

RobertWevodau -> RE: Board game mod ( ready to use + New upload to simplify install) (6/21/2018 5:59:47 PM)

Hi - I attempted to download the board game mod from your new link and I got an Installer that did nothing but add junk apps to my computer. No sign of the mod. Anyone else have this problem? I'm not very happy about this as zI had to individually delete each worthless app.

How do I find the correct download for the board game app? It looks very nice and I would love to try it.

Thanks,
Robert

Hairog -> RE: Board game mod ( ready to use + New upload to simplify install) (6/21/2018 6:27:24 PM)

did u use the link in post 73 on this thread? I just tried it and it works fine.

RobertWevodau -> RE: Board game mod ( ready to use + New upload to simplify install) (6/21/2018 9:27:06 PM)

Yes, I did. I used "Save As" in Win 10, and after the download there was an installer file. When I double-clicked the installer it put the unwanted apps on my drive. The download link did say Board-Game mod, but I saw nothing of the mod after I downloaded and executed the installer. Any reason it would not work for me? Can anyone help me?

Thanks,
Robert

Hairog -> RE: Board game mod ( ready to use + New upload to simplify install) (6/24/2018 3:45:23 AM)

Don't know what to tell you Robert. I just downloaded it and there is, and never has been, an "installer". You have to take the folders and put them into the correct places. If you downloaded something with an installer you downloaded the wrong files.

RobertWevodau -> RE: Board game mod ( ready to use + New upload to simplify install) (6/24/2018 1:49:09 PM)

Thanks Hairog. I believe you, and I don't believe there is any malicious intent. However, I did get an installer program when I clicked on the download button on the page after NEW LINK is clicked. What was downloaded is a file named Installer, which when clicked loaded multiple unwanted malware apps. I should have been more careful for sure, but I trusted the link. The worst of the unwanted apps installed are KNCTR and Idle Buddy. I'm working with Malwarebytes to get them eliminated. My computer is seriously screwed up. I did try to download again and got the right file, so maybe this "Installer" file thing has been fixed.

For future downloaders, if the file you see as the downloaded file is named "installer", delete it and try again until you get the correct Board Game mod files.

Thanks,
Robert

I love this classic boardgame mod but I'm having issues trying to get it installed. Can anyone step me through this? [&:]

Thanks!

Hairog -> RE: Board game mod ( ready to use + New upload to simplify install) (7/13/2018 3:32:25 AM)

Did read the readme? If so what seems to be the problem? I can try and help but I'm not an expert by any means.

Craig68x -> RE: Board game mod ( ready to use + New upload to simplify install) (7/15/2018 6:06:39 PM)

I did read the README but Welk admitted that it's mostly trial and error. My issue is that I don't know which files get installed into which folders.

Hairog -> RE: Board game mod ( ready to use + New upload to simplify install) (7/16/2018 10:21:03 PM)

Lets start here

The files in the Zipped/downloaded "bitmaps" folder that say "major 1-7, neutral, allied minor, axis minor" go into their respective folders in the "bitmap" folder of the particular Campaign you are modifying. They will replace the files in them so backup the old ones first.

What these do (anyone correct me if I'm wrong) is to change colors/tints of the hexes that these countries occupy.

The Campaign folders are located Your Hard Drive > Documents > My Games > Strategic War In Europe...> Campaigns.

The rest of the files in the Zipped/downloaded Bitmaps Folder go loose into the Campaign Folder of choice. They too will replace the files in the original, so backup if you care. These files change the basic look of the unoccupied map. These are the crux of the mod.

That is 99% of the files... well 90%.

The files in the Zipped/downloaded Interface Files go into the Campaign > Interface Folder and once again will replace the old ones yada yada.

Craig68x -> RE: Board game mod ( ready to use + New upload to simplify install) (7/18/2018 8:26:47 PM)

I have majors 1-7, and neutral but there is no allied minor nor axis minor you mentioned. I hope I have the correct zip file. [&:]

Hairog -> RE: Board game mod ( ready to use + New upload to simplify install) (7/18/2018 10:32:19 PM)

Your fine. I was remembering some other games.

You should have one for Neutral as well.

Craig68x -> RE: Board game mod ( ready to use + New upload to simplify install) (7/19/2018 2:37:15 AM)

*whew*
I was hoping my brain faculties were still in place. Now, I do have a few questions:
1.)The BITMAPS go in the C: XXXXX Matrix game folder or the My Documents..My Games..folder?

2.) The interface just goes in the My Documents..My Games..folder?

This is where I lose it. But thank you for your patience! [&o]
