According to the manual and in-game info, "Each new level of Production Technology research decreases unit costs and the cost of Manual Upgrades by 5%". When reaching a new level of Prod Tech, I noticed that the cost of the manual upgrades (Infantry Weapons, Mobility, etc) was not reduced.

With Prod Tech level 2, the cost of a basic GE Infantry Army is 250[225] and when I add Inf Weap 1 and Mobility, the cost is 350[325]. If the manual upgrades were actually reduced 10%, the cost should be 350[315]. I checked the costs of upgrading an Inf Army already on the map and they are not reduced by 10% either.

edit: so 40+ views, can anyone else confirm this?

So 161 views, has anyone checked to see if I'm crazy or not?

I'd be interested to know, as just invested in that tech as the axis in my current game...

If it doesn't affect upgrades/replacements, then there's not much use in investing after the first couple. Most of your new unit builds are done by the time you invade Soviet Union. Still can be useful for US since they build new units later in game than other players. I know as Britain, by late 1941 I was spending all my income on replacements.

OxfordGuy3 -> RE: Production Tech doesn't work as stated (2/1/2017 3:01:55 PM)

Surely it should affect manual upgrades too (maybe not naval)?

CapnDarwin -> RE: Production Tech doesn't work as stated (2/1/2017 3:17:58 PM)

Is it possible that it's just a poorly worded rule? If the designer meant to say "Each new level of Production Technology research decreases unit costs and the cost of Manual Upgrades by 5% - of the BASE COST" Then the numbers you have indicated would be right. Really need clarification from the developer on this one.

I intended to monitor Inf and Naval upgrades while playing, but somehow I keep forgetting. I think the game is too exiting and it makes it difficult to concentrate on anything else.

So far I managed to only log one result, for manual upgrades to a unit on the map:
German Inf Upgrade at Production Level 1 = 15 Mpp.
German Inf Upgrade at Production Level 4 = 15 Mpp.

That sounds like it's not working as it should :-(

This is something I'll need to discuss with Hubert as it may be that I was mistaken when I was writing the Manual, or that they should but aren't.
