I didn't know the Russians had gunboats on the Volga providing support fire. I wonder if Stukas tried to bomb them?

I like that last picture cause it gives Stalingrad a cozy, comforting feeling even with a fire to help warm the troops and remind them of the fireplace back home during Christmas.

Some Russian barges had machine guns on board. This is reflected in a type of barge.
The Stukas can naturally attack them. I lost one during the scenario tests.

The title of the14th Scenario of Historical Module Barrikady is Barrikady Volga. With this I already tell you everything.
In addition, you take the Russian side, which carries a part of its refreshment troops to the western bank of the Volga river just when a new German offensive is taking place. In some other previous post this issue has already been treated by some other fan of original game.

In short, Heroes and Leaders mod tries to take a step "forward" in the original game. The reasoning would be that the AI already performs all the calculations for you in every move or shot. It even gives you a statistical probability about the success or otherwise of a specific shot. If this is so, I understand that it does not make much sense that the units have their characteristics printed on a "cardboard counter", because you do not really need them. So, if you do not need the numbers/colors/symbols, neither you do not need the cardboard counter. We have a silhouette of infantry soldiers, camouflaged on the ground, like the tanks and artillery, which forces players to pay attention to each of their units instead of performing redundant calculations that, in reality, only make the game move too slowly.

Imagine a Squad Leader, in the middle of a manufacturing workshop in Stalingrad, with shots whistling past over your head, smoke around, sinister noises and, also, your men waiting for you to give some correct order that does not put them too much in danger. So, you have a magic machine that calculates the possibility of one of your squads to shoot and hit an enemy that you had not even seen. That does not happen even in the 21st century.

The SL/ASL players call it omnipresence and omniscience, and the designers of that magnificent series of boardgames have always tried to fight against that anomaly. They have always thought, and I also believe the same, that the vertigo of uncertainty is the essence of combat on a scale of squads and individual vehicles.

Finally, for those who love to see the traditional counters, hover your mouse over any unit/weapon and it will flip to its classic information format, revealing its main characteristics of combat, as I attached in the image below.

Courage, Chinchin. It's just a jump to the vacuum ....... (the parachute will open, ... most likely).

I understand your reasons, but the fact of the counter is not to calculate possibilities, I do not know how to resolve, never play LnL, only SL and a long time ago, it is for aesthetics and practicality. Accustomed to the counter, it is unbearable to play with the silhouettes.

If I transform the file Units.csv to Units.xls, I modify it, and I convert it back to .csv, and I would have the units in good condition. I just need to modify the .tga files for shaken and wounded units. Correct?

Chinchin, my apologize for tell that the subject of the silhouettes that you propose "it was already commented". What I meant to say is that there are other friends in this forum who also think like you.

If you finally make the decision to correct those files to perform a "traditional" version, I propose that you publish your work in this forum. There are friends in this forum who will thank you.
