SeaQueen -> RE: Gathering intel with submarines (10/3/2017 4:00:16 PM)

Not a noob question at all. I actually find ISR with submarines to be fairly challenging for several reasons. I'd use the simplest method that Mike described, but here's some things you need to think about: *Mast mounted sensors are limited by their horizon. In order to observe a coast you probably need to get pretty close to it. *Getting close to the coast means shallow water. Shallow water means you need to be very careful about navigation. Plot your way points so that you don't find your submarine exposing more than a mast by accident. *Shallow water might be mined to deter sneaky submarines from doing exactly what you're trying to do. Have you thought about exactly what kinds of targets you're trying to scout? quote:
ORIGINAL: npsergio What I'm trying to do is to use my subs to use their ELINT to gather intel from the coast. Is it better to create a mission or to do it manually. And how to do it correctly?
