Overall

• 838 strategic points.

• The B-29's are doing deep maintenance.

West Coast USA, Alaska, Hawaii

Pacific

• Just keeping them from sleeping.

• 1,520 on Truk. Some units are ready to attack but others are too disrupted. One tank Bn, the combat Eng Rgt, and two Inf Divs will assault tomorrow.

New Zealand, Australia, New Caledonia, New Hebrides, Solomons, Papua New Guinea, New Britain

DEI, Dutch New Guinea, Borneo, Malaya

• The convoy with the Bde for Victoria Point is sheading to Rangoon to top up on supply.

Philippines

• Some of or fleet carrier TF's are really getting beat up by time at sea. Two TF will withdraw to Manus, where there is a Fleet Adv Base Force, a Fleet HQ, and a size 7 port. Hopefully we can get system damage back down to practical operational levels. A bunch of surface combatants will require attention soo too.

• The rest of the fleet will head back into the South China Sea, again mostly as a deterrent and annoyance to the Empire.

China

• Atago would have been a nice prize.

• The bombardments at Vinh stung.

• 507 AV at Prachuap Khiri Khan. The troops are in good enough shape to go again tomorrow. Air support was foiled by foul weather over the target today, but tomorrow, who knows?

• 3,106 AV at Bangkok, assault tomorrow.

• We are building fortifications at Kratie and have two base forces on the way to support air ops from the size 3 airbase.

Japan, Korea, Manchuria, Russia

• Still some fires burning at Kobe.

Considering the altitude of his CAP, maybe try 2000 feet next. Especially at Gifu which is not heavily built up but with lots of factories. Not being build up really lessens the chances of balloons.

• The ground results at Prachuap Khiri Khan were great and the attack will continue tomorrow; 470 AV.

• The ground results at Bangkok were very good, with fortifications reduced further. Flak is still murderous on those low level fighter jocks. 2,676 AV there now after the assault.

• 1,851 AV at Vinh but the troops need to recover more disruption. Stupid bombardments.

• We now have torpedo armed FB at Pakse, in range of the Indochina coastal route.

• This is defensive of course.

• Our troops at Prachuap Khiri Khan will rest tomorrow.

• Our troops at Vinh are well enough recovered, and of course are working between enemy bombardments. They will assault tomorrow; 1,887 AV.

• 2,769 AV at Bangkok; only one division still needs to recoup Disruption (at 27).

• Victoria Point landings in probably 2 days, maybe 3 days.

BBfanboy -> RE: 1944 October 17 (6/28/2021 4:26:24 PM)

Hmmm - at Truk the Japanese got -disruption and -supply, and their raw AV was roughly 1/3 of yours. With the forts dropped one level and their supply/disruption issues worse than ever, I think a shock attack by all your units would carry the day. Your guys can recover their disablements after the Naval Fortress is destroyed and you own the base.

Your call of course - higher disruption on your units at the end of that turn might mean higher numbers of destroyed squads in a shock attack too.

We only attacked with 2 divisions and 1 tank Bn, so the raw AV shown for our side was misleading (it always shows all AV, IIRC).

Next turn is away and we are attacking with 1 division and 1 Eng Rgt.

A shock attack would do it, but I would only do that with rested units. I'm not pressed for one or two days here anyway, especially if it means the units don't need a bunch of extra days to recover.

We'll see how things look next turn.

BBfanboy -> RE: 1944 October 19 (6/30/2021 12:52:45 PM)

Congrats on taking Truk! [:)][&o][sm=happy0065.gif]
[:D]
Surprised the Naval Fortress did not show as a destroyed unit since there were 93 enemy guns destroyed. I guess the gun crews grabbed their bore-cleaning poles and set out to become foot soldiers with lances (if they can sharpen them). [:D]

Doesn't that message about "unable to supply air cover" refer to your carriers not supporting the Liberators?

Tough assault at Bangkok - hopefully the enemy will suffer shortages now that you are on the rail line at PKK. As for the AA units going to Q, I think Q is already working on laser AA for his next Aston-Martin mod. M told me when I got her drunk one night. [;)]

Sweet, you got some damage on that fully repaired Shinden factory.[:)]

You might want to look around for a potential daytime target. Even if it is a much smaller base, you can still core good destruction with targeted bombing and cause Japan to stretch their fighters even more.

If you are going to bomb any specific factories, I suggest that you bomb the factories showing as size 31. They are probably research factories, if they are damaged they won't research so chances are that they would get repaired yet that will cost supplies. This also delays the production of those late war airframes.

BBfanboy -> RE: 1944 October 24 (7/5/2021 2:40:23 PM)

The game also adds 1 to the reported count of factories, so the total count for each industrial factory type should be reduced by one. The 31 count factories are in fact 30 count - as expected with optimization.
