If I use an auto-attack (F1), is there any way to stop the missiles approaching off-axis? I want them to fly in a straight line, so I can calculate the flight-time more easily.

(I also can't use Shift-F1 and manually plot a course, because of the boresight issue I've mentioned in tech support.)

I do this occasionally; not sure if it's possible with auto-attack, but with manual attack (shift+F1) I just click somewhere along the direct path, which adds a 'leg' but keeps the flight path in a straight line.

Not sure if this will help, but that's how I do it.

I do that normally, but in this mission
a) there are lots of units, so it would take forever
and
b) there's this bug that means SSMs don't like facing the right way. They'll fire with F1, but refuse to fire with shift+F1.

Thanks for the suggestion though, it normally works a treat.

(Edit: If I manually reposition each individual launcher to face the target, then set their speed to 0, then set the course for each salvo, I can get around the bug. I'll try that, thanks for the idea.)

I've added turning off waypointing to the request list but I'd add it to the feature request list so players can vote on it and possibly give it a higher priority.

I did check your salvo bug issue and it should be fixed if you update to the latest and greatest.

Thanks!

Mike

Cheers!

I've just updated my database (didn't realise it updated separately from Steam, sorry), but the problem persists. I've included an updated save in the tech support thread.

More of a news story, but maybe of interest in this cruise missile thread.

"The missiles’ control system carries out a range of sophisticated tasks including precision targeting, route planning and in-flight retargeting. But, historically, these systems have been difficult to use. Planners say the system upgrades have streamlined the user interface considerably."

That's an interesting article. I really enjoyed how it discussed cyber-warfare concerns with the TLAMs. It didn't really go into detail, but it's rare to see even that much detail discussed.
