Goblin Hunter -> Orzel Bialy, are you your Master's Keeper? or are you a manbird? (5/31/2003 6:59:58 AM)

Poles vs. the Germans

Poles defend 3000 points
mines 90 max at start
artillery 500 max

Germans assault 6000 points
artillery 700 max

60x60 map
LOS 25

pick! :mad:

Orzel Bialy -> OK...let's see... (5/31/2003 7:44:32 AM)

Polish forces....which I like because they are underdogs....or the Wehrmacht...but without Katz. hmmmmmmm.

If I win with the Poles in 39'...it's a victory that is twice as sweet...however, even entrechment factors won't save the Poles for long at this period of time...on that small of a map, where a tidal wave rush by the Germans would certainly prevail regardless. hmmmmmmm.

I guess it's a question of how cocky am I? :cool:

I'll take the Poles. ;)

Goblin -> (5/31/2003 7:44:44 AM)

Take the Germans, Orzel!! Blow him to bits!!

Goblin

Goblin -> (5/31/2003 10:00:27 AM)

Orzel, no offense, but he may be smarter than you... He knew you would go with the Polish forces, and he ends up with 2 to 1 on points... Smash him anyways....:mad:

Goblin-A Goblin laffs at the phrase 'Taking the Poles':D

Orzel Bialy -> Goblin... (5/31/2003 10:19:10 AM)

yes, I know he has obviously done his homework...and knew that I would probably take the Poles and suffer a huge disadvantage.

However I feel confident that I can pull this off. :cool:

Why dost thou converse with that trunk of humours, that bolting-hutch of beastliness, that swollen parcel of dropsies, that huge bombard of sack, that stuffed cloak-bag of guts, that roasted Manningtree ox with pudding in his belly, that reverend vice, that grey Iniquity, that father ruffian, that vanity in years?

Jim Lindquist is next and will sing

"O vos omnes, qui transitis per viam, attendite et videte, si est dolor sicut dolor meus. Idcirco ego plorans, et oculus meus deducens aquas, quia longe factus est a me consolator, convertens animam meam. Defecerunt prae lacrimis oculi mei: conturbata sunt omnia viscera mea: effusum est in terra iecur meum, super contritione filii mei, quoniam praevaluit inimicum"

Goblin Hunter -> (6/1/2003 7:39:25 PM)

I send my slaves in.

Attack!:mad:

Orzel Bialy -> OK Here we go... (6/1/2003 8:17:58 PM)

There was the typical smoke barrage...and a wave of German infantry advances behind it.

In the center a Polish 40mm AA crew spots a group of Panzer Mk III's trying to advance to a wooded area near our front line...and this gallant guncrew forces two of the panzer crews to bail.

Elsewhere two 88's are sited...one to the north and one to the south...and they are given some MG fire to make their crews think twice. Outside of that a couple German MG and scout teams receive some pot shots to force their heads down....on MG team even runs away.

Good Grief, sounds like a reject from a bad Shakespeare scene

Goblin Hunter -> (6/3/2003 5:54:46 AM)

Popule meus, quid tibi feci, aut in quo contristavi te? responde mihi: Ego eduxi te de domo servitutis in terram promissionis: et tu me descendentem e sinu Patris eduxisti ad mortem Crucis. Ego te plantavi vineam meam speciosissimam; et tu factus es mihi nimis amara. Ego te potavi aqua salutis de terra: et tu me potasti felle et aceto. Quid ultra debui tibi facere et non feci?

My Minions can see many baby birds...LOL...all I can see is baby birds! And they look like chickens! LOL...is this all the "MIGHTY ORZEL CAN MUSTER:eek: ???

I killed Goblin King for revenge...YOU...I kill for fun!:mad: :mad:

Thou art only mark'd for hot vengeance and the rod of heaven.

LOL...........

Orzel Bialy -> If a swarm of ants... (6/3/2003 7:52:23 AM)

can overcome and eat an elephant to the bone....imagine was a swarm of baby birds can do! LOL. Your troops will have bomblets dropping all over them and their tanks. :p

To the north there are 88's...and infantry

In the center tanks and AC's...and infantry

To south there are 88's....and infantry

Hmmmm....looks like a pattern to me. Anyways, I manage to take out a couple of the German "eyes" that were poking around to the south.

Nice of you to provide me with a bore-sited trenchline...however, there aren't as many "birds" there as you think. They are currently elsewhere...waiting to drop in other places later. ;)

Really, there is only death!...sniff..snifff...

"Master...we smell MINES!"!

:mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:
:mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

SO I HEAR!

Birds like mines!

Orzel Bialy -> What would an Orzel Defensive Battle... (6/3/2003 9:59:32 AM)

be without mines? :p

Just as in history...a trench dotted with infantry units has not been effective in slowing down armor....which is what I expected. ;)

However...the supporting German infantry have taken some losses as they try to advance behind their panzers. Several MG teams and even a couple engineer units were forced to retreat as they tried to flow into the breaches made by the panzers.

The trick now will be keeping the German infantry seperated long enough for me to deal with those panzers! ;)

M4Jess -> Gooooooooo Orzel! (6/3/2003 10:04:44 AM)

GoGoGo!!

Goblin Hunter -> (6/4/2003 6:22:57 AM)

I am having fun!:D :)

Is this what a smile really feels like?:confused:

WAIT WAIT WAIT......:mad:

Kyrie eleison!!!

what are you people doing to me!!!!!:mad:

DieDieDie!!!! I continue my advance! and many foolish Poles drop before my slaves!:mad: and now the first trench line is breached!:mad:

Orzel Bialy -> Many Poles Die??? (6/4/2003 8:06:33 AM)

Hmmm....I shall have to check with HQ on that one...since you have just pushed through my lightly defended "trip-wire" line.

I see that a Pzkfw III has come to grief...it's crew bailing out and taking some MG fire for their trouble.

Elsewhere it seems that a couple 88's have found themselves the target of suppression fire...as well as some engineers who waltzed out infront of a MG nest.

Glad to hear you cracked a smile because of this little fight...won't you turn into a pumpkin for doing so though??? :p

M4Jess -> (6/4/2003 8:15:53 AM)

Q: Is this a Pole?

A:Why yes it is...

Q:Why is he so small?

A: He is a Pole...

Goblin Hunter. A Hunter starts to Giggle :confused:

LOL sorry Orzel...had to throw that in!

Jess

Orzel Bialy -> Hmmm... (6/4/2003 8:29:08 AM)

sure thing there Jess...it's cool. You'll get yours sometime down the line. ;)

Goblin Hunter -> (6/4/2003 7:48:06 PM)

We move on and on and on into the Poles!:mad:

Mines start to take a heavy poll on my slaves!:mad:

I will kill them all!:mad:

Orzel Bialy -> Well..... (6/4/2003 9:20:06 PM)

if you had conferred with Jess and Goblin about me and mines...I dare say you would not have been so keen to alott me a mine quota! lol :D ;) :p

German panzers break through the skirmish line...but have run into a bit of trouble in the form of a mine belt.

Of course this belt is nothing as long as the Germans have engineers or even infantry to clear the way for those panzers...provided they don't get seperated from the panzers and held up a bit by MG nests that is. :p

The Poles wait for the coming storm. :mad:

Goblin Hunter -> (6/5/2003 5:31:32 AM)

Panzer without infantry.....

Panzer without infantry.....

Panzer without infantry.....

never good....

never good....

never good....

Mines....

Mines....

Mines....

Mines....

The Polish Bird Lover front lines back is broke.:mad: My Minions are close my human bird man....can you feel the fear...as I can smell your fear!

Oremus:
Amen.

Orzel Bialy -> Hmmm... (6/5/2003 11:18:41 AM)

wow...things didn't go well at all that turn. :(

To my surprise a lot of my engaged units didn't put up as much resistance this turn....instead they seemed to take the fire and go into "shock"...if not routed completely. Perhaps I asked too much of them???

I mean, I knew this would happen eventually due to the national characteristics factors, but I was hoping to get two or three more turns out of my first defensive line units. Instead I will need to rethink my strategy and try to regroup quickly before the dam bursts. :(

Hmmm...quite suddenly things have gone far different from what I had planned for.

Orzel Bialy -> Ummm... (6/7/2003 6:35:32 AM)

SO???

Hey GH...haven't seen nor heard from ya in days. Where's the files at there Mac???

Or are you:

1. Laying low because the mod yelled at ya...you sissy la la.

2. Laying low because you ran into big time trouble when you tried blasting through my lines? Hee hee hee.

3. A combo of both 1 & 2?

Come out and play GH...:mad:

A note to Jim- I was beaten on the purchase screen by this clown, NOT the battlefield. Still, since I am four feet tall (an exceptionally tall and handsome Goblin), I don't suppose you can look up to me anyways.;)

Orzel Bialy -> U mean... (6/7/2003 6:49:30 AM)

look down to. :D

Orzel Bialy -> who's been drinking??? (6/7/2003 6:54:10 AM)

If you are two foot and fourteen inches that would make you 3 foot 2! lol :D ;) :p
