Belisarius -> (6/6/2003 10:50:39 PM)

Hm. Made a small change to the linky - now you can access the directory. Still no update. Ah....the suspense! :p

Charles2222 -> (6/6/2003 10:54:44 PM)

Hmm. I just tried the link provided for here, and I'm direct into the file (never seen a link like that before. Anyway, I'm sort of spooked about this being a full install, or so it's named. IS that the only possible file and there's not one for going from the previous version to this one? I'm hoping I'm not going to get a double full install out of this. Unfortunately I'm at work at the moment and won't be able to install till I do so at home.

Belisarius -> (6/6/2003 11:00:18 PM)

I guess the file will be huuuuge anyway, since all the new graphics for the upcoming 7.2 will be included in this one as well.... alot mor than 44 MB at least.

Anyway, it says Dec 8 on the file now, so I guess that's not it. Leo, do you know what the new file will be called?

Gallo Rojo -> (6/6/2003 11:05:08 PM)

Hello Leo!
Do you have a file that sum up the changes and improvenmet for this new version? I would like to have it for trasnlate it to Spanish and post it in the fans' Spanish Speakers web page.
Best

Charles2222 -> (6/7/2003 12:09:35 AM)

Ah, now that's more along the lines of what I was expecting, only, if Belisarius is correct the new file is absent.

m10bob -> (6/7/2003 2:19:30 AM)

Nope...I just tried it..Blitz still has the old 44mb version up..:confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

Panzer Leo: Same thing I was thinking. Do you think the default directories are the same as the time before (on the install I mean)?
I changed them to automatically run on v7.1 with "Matrix Games" and not "MatrixGames"...that's the only thing you gotta look for when installing...

The download site will have an update on the changes, though only very rough...I didn't spent much time on explaining the changes, but rather on actually implementing them :D

The changes really effecting gameplay are listed...the rest is mainly fine tuning and OOB work plus the big new graphics set by Tracer and Harry.

The whole thing is 65MB as download...at first I wanted to make a patch and a full download, but as the patch would have been about half the size of the full download (29MB or so), I skipped that idea...there will be only one full version to install...

Charles2222 -> (6/7/2003 3:19:52 AM)

Panzer Leo: Thanks. It's good to know the file size too, so I'll know the genuine article when I see it.

rbrunsman -> (6/7/2003 3:56:08 AM)

So, what we do is: backup our saved games, etc, from H2Hv1, then delete that directory, next install a clean SPWAWv7.1 and then install H2Hv2 over that, then paste our saves, etc. back into v2?:confused:

You don't need to delete anything. To make a backup of saved games, campaigns and maybe maps or scenarios you don't want to loose is a good idea.
Make also a backup copy of the OOBs from "H2H ce".
Then install "H2H fr" (the new one) simply over your existing H2H and also make a copy of the OOBs.
If you got battles running in "H2H ce", simply load the OOBs of that version into the main directory, when you play with the new OOBs, put them back in again...this little OOB swapping will bring you over the time needed to finish old games without installing to versions or having other troubles...

M4Jess -> (6/7/2003 5:46:35 AM)

I just loaded my "I am a cool scenario designer" copy!:p

My Gosh!!!!:eek: this is so cool!!!!!

...if you had a PM or e-mail link, you'd already have it! Send me a PM/e-mail...I have enough download time left on my server to grant your wish. ;)

Charles2222 -> (6/7/2003 7:34:56 AM)

tracer: No thanks, I'll just wait. I was just hoping I'd get it downloaded today, but play it sometime later, as I'm hot in the middle of my best CIV3 PTW effort to date.

Akmatov -> Err hate to seem a bit slow, but. . . (6/7/2003 7:46:13 AM)

It H2Hv2 up some where? If so where? If not please tell me it will be soon:)

Really looking forward to checking it out, the first version was very interesting and what I'm currently running.

Thanks a lot Panzer Leo for sharing your ideas and efforts.

m10bob -> (6/7/2003 10:37:19 AM)

Either it's not posted anywhere yet,or nobody is monitoring the traffic here tonight??:confused:

Sorry for the confusion...check out page 2 of this thread. Moving a 60+mb file around the internet isn't an easy task; once you exceed the 5mb limit of a standard e-mail box things start getting tricky...and costly!:D Some copies (~15) were able to be downloaded from an intermediate server (the first of course going to The Blitz), but now that site's limit (1000mb) has pretty much been used up. I'm betting that tomorrow morning it'll be busy at The Blitz site. ;)

m10bob -> (6/7/2003 6:25:12 PM)

I'm camped out on my cpu,locked in the bathroom,with a can of pretzels.I refuse to come out till I have this downloaded.I'm watching...Waiting......:rolleyes:

Charles2222 -> (6/7/2003 7:26:24 PM)

m10bob: Your snack sitdown will turn into a starvation sitdown if my guess is correct. In my case, I'm one of those poor saps that usually work on saturdays, so I'll be curious to see if it'll be up by 1600 CST, which I'm doubting.

tracer -> (6/7/2003 7:58:17 PM)

Looks like I lost my 'bet'. :( I have no idea what's causing the hold-up.

Akmatov -> (6/7/2003 11:00:56 PM)

OK, if I'm understanding this correctly H2Hv2 will be appearing on the Blitz site shortly and possible a bit sooner at the Blitz ftp site cited in a message back on page two of this thread - the same ftp site where 'spwawh2full.zip' currently sits.

Ah, patience.

I hate patience.

sztartur2 -> (6/8/2003 12:36:52 AM)

I am also watching... Without result :( .

Artur.

Alby -> (6/9/2003 4:14:25 AM)

Last I heard there were some things that needed fixing

tracer -> (6/9/2003 4:22:32 AM)

I just heard from PL: He discovered an error in the patch, and instead of issuing a 'patch for the patch', he decided to correct it now...hence, the delay. That's all the info I have.

Apologies to PL if I'm posting 'out of turn', but since I snuck a few advance copies out I felt I was obligated to let those people know.

Alby -> (6/9/2003 4:48:46 AM)

so what i have is no good then?
