Looks that way...me too.:( We'll have to wait to get the details from PL...maybe its just a couple of OOB errors, in which case you'd only need to have someone mail you the corrected ones once the patch is released (fingers crossed).

Alby -> (6/9/2003 7:34:44 AM)

oh well stuff happens:)

Alby -> (6/9/2003 8:32:22 PM)

Panzer Leo had given the files to the Blitz, but then before they got them posted he sent an email and "Stop". There's some sort of problem with them.

What up? I am beginning to think this doesn't really exist. :p
This is because you live in the universe of fantasy created by MATRIX
But if you take the pill and taste SPH2H, you will know how the real WW2 environment is, specially regarding about experience, morale and leader rankings … and off course many more things ;) :p :)

Busy, busy, busy....uhhh :eek:

First I encountered a f*#;.ing stupid error I made in the new version (the new aircooled MGs cannot enter buildings-was pretty embarassing to have run so many tests for all sorts of things, but never to enter a building) and then real life put me out of work the last two days...

I'll fix it as soon as I can...

BTW, it's maybe even not bad to have a few guys testing it a bit more...so all you guys with the pre-release (Alby, Jim...) - if you see something odd...let me know...I can still fix it...besides the MG thing, your version should be fine (I hope)...

You will not need to download it again...the files to be fixed are no more then 2MB and I'll send them to you in an extra package once they are done...

sorry for the delay... :(

tracer -> (6/10/2003 8:23:09 PM)

Great news!
BTW, the new version has been working perfect for me...I swapped in the old OOBs to play my PBEM turns and haven't seen any 'security violations'. I'll do some testing with the new OOBs installed and let you know about any strange behavior. And I had forgotten about the new sounds....verrry cool.:cool:

One question: I noticed the patch changed the 'range' display from hexes to meters...I remember that this is an old feature, but I forget how to toggle it (hexes, yards, meters). Anyone know?

Thanks again PL!

sztartur2 -> (6/12/2003 1:09:04 AM)

When is it going to be ready for download?

Artur.

m10bob -> (6/12/2003 4:03:41 PM)

Panzer Leo,It is very minor,but you asked....The Americans used napalm as early as July,1944 in France,(at St Lo)...
See the "availability date" of the P-47 with napalm..Currently not available for months afterward....This has been a historical flaw since SP!;) BTW,I am very sold on H2H,best thing going,and to date,I only have time for "solo"....Excellent AI....:D

dwayne -> Thanks (6/12/2003 7:57:55 PM)

First I'd like to thank Panzer Leo for a very promising mod. I'm realy loking foward it. I have a little question. In what form will the new version be? Will it require the previous version?

It will come as a full version and can be installed over SPWAW 5.0 and up or H2H ce.
The size will be around 65MB.

Planned release: as soon as I can... ;)

dwayne -> (6/13/2003 2:52:03 PM)

thanks, that what I need to know.:)

I'm sure we are all eager for news, but I'm sure no news yet means that the mod is being worked on and will be here as soon as possible, which is at the end of the day good news. ;)

Panzer Leo -> (6/19/2003 3:22:10 PM)

Well, I know I left you waiting all too long now, but here is what I was working on the last days:

- as I solved the problem with the new move&fire MMGs not entering buildings, I found out that I could improve the MG icons for larger MG squads like the German 9 men or the US Arm MG. We now have additional guys around the MGs (like spotter or grenade thrower), that will disappear when the number of men drops (only in two steps and not every casualty).

- the work on the vulnerability of HTs on the official OOBs inspired me to work on that aspect a little bit aswell (but I think I approached it differently).
HTs can now be knocked out by small arms fire and rifle caliber MGs with a bit luck and a vulnerable location hit.
This should force players to be a bit more carefull with these thingies and limits a bit the "super speed rush" towards enemy infantry.

I will put up the finished mod for the Blitz by tomorrow...then it should only be a few days till they get it on up on their site.

I didn't here any complains from my testers, so I think everything else is fine :)

P.S. the Napalm thing is quite tricky to handle...I can't make it rare enough...I can already see the skies swirling with napalm bombers...as far as I know, the use of it was very limited before the date we have now in the OOBs...so the first months after July should be left for scenario designers only, till it got more common - I think it was very uncommon in the European theatre even up to the end, or ? (but if you got other sources, let me know)

Belisarius -> (6/19/2003 4:00:16 PM)

Great work Leo!

But Holy Cr*p! You're making the HTs even MORE vulnerable? :eek: I guess my experience with these machines are entirely different than the stock of SP:WAW players if there's a demand for a weaker HT!

Other than speed, I can't justify their cost at all. My HTs are all paper HTs as it is. :p

David Lehmann -> (6/19/2003 4:43:01 PM)

I think napalm had been used massively in WWII since 1942 but mainly on the pacific TO. Nevertheless napalm was largely used against the French islands still hold by the Germans after D-Day. On the western TO white phosphorous incendiary bombs had been more massively used.

David

That's true, but I think as a weapon for close battle support, it was almost non-existent in France...or am I wrong ?

David Lehmann -> (6/19/2003 6:10:18 PM)

Yes I agree with you but I lack reliable info about that precise point. As I said the single example I know of napalm use in France is against the Germans entrenched in the French and Anglo/French islands. Perhaps also against few Britanny pockets.

sztartur2 -> (6/20/2003 1:21:08 AM)

Finally some good news...
:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :cool:

Of course I knew Panzer Leo was working hard on it. Good job!

dlazov -> H2H mod (6/20/2003 1:27:20 AM)

First of all thanks Pz Leo for this mod I now have 4 SP games:

SP WaW 7.1
SP WaW 7.1 H2H
SP WW2 5.6
SP MBT 2.0

I just finished the download from the blitz but its the H2H ce version. From reading these posts once you release your newest upgrade all I have to do it point it in the right direction and let it install correct? (Do I need the full patch or will a partial patch work?)

Thanks and advance.

(Don't tell anyone, but I like the German spelling, would be cool if you did the Italians, Russians, and French in their native langugaes too like SP WW2 does - then you need a translation page for us single speaking/reading kind)

By the way what does the following mean?

Chef

Mir nach, ich folge euch !

Alby -> (6/20/2003 4:54:12 AM)

those of us who got the premature download a week or so ago...will we need to redownload entire thing again??
Thanks for evrything Leo!

Chef = to describe the position of a company commander, usually holding the rank of Hauptmann (can also mean "boss" and normally used for owners of civil business companies)

Mir nach, ich folge euch !

My slogan as officer in the Luftwaffen-Infanterie:
"Follow me, I'm behind you !" :D

Alby, I will send Tracer a 2MB patch to upgrade your pre-release version, the rest needs the full 65MB...
