From one of your other games, it looks like Ronnie has already updated, so I think I'll do likewise.

AllenK -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/14/2020 5:43:14 PM)

M/A 43 Allies 7

No DoW or alignments

Land: CW, USSR, China.
Naval: USA.

US sails TRANS from Truk to Coral Sea 1-box where it picks up GARR from Port Vila. TRANS from TRUK to West Coast 0-box where P-40 is loaded. TRANS from Saipan to Hawaii. AMPH from TRUK to Saipan. TRANS from St. Vincent to Syracuse. 2 CV and 5 CA/CL from TRUK to South China Sea 4-box (I decline the intercept).

Two areas for naval combat.

AllenK -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/14/2020 5:45:46 PM)

The US declines Biscay. In South China Seas, CL Boise initiates. The Japanese have a Ki-27 near Hong Kong that could reach the 1-box if it chooses?

warspite1 -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/14/2020 6:29:12 PM)

No aircraft for the Japanese thank-you

AllenK -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 11:28:02 AM)

Once again, the US blunders into the Japanese. Searches: Allies 5, Axis 1. Both sides find. Axis have 3 surprise points. The Allies decline the naval air combat. Will the Japanese will choose it?

warspite1 -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 12:43:41 PM)

The Japanese decline a naval air also. They increase the their own combat column by 1 (2 points). Thank-you.

The Japanese choose the TRS to take the destroyed and Sendai to take the Damaged please (if the Japanese have the choice).

AllenK -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 1:29:57 PM)

The TRANS is sunk and the Sendai damaged.

AllenK -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 1:41:39 PM)

The US loses the Boise and Portland is aborted damaged.

The US elects to continue. Is this another "Hold until relieved" effort by the Japanese?

warspite1 -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 1:44:08 PM)

Yes, we have Richard Todd in full effect. Thank-you.

AllenK -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 1:58:55 PM)

Searches: Allies 2, Axis 9. Allies choose 2-box only and go for air combat. All CVP's fly as bombers. Does the Japanese B5N1 (1-4) wish to fly as fighter or bomber? Japan has 2 3-factor fighters against a 5-factor Spitfire. Allies have 8 surprise points.

warspite1 -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 2:07:12 PM)

Fighter please

AllenK -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 2:15:25 PM)

The Allies use 2 points to reduce the Japanese air to air value. Is the batting order okay?

warspite1 -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 2:21:48 PM)

Looks good thank-you.

AllenK -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 2:27:49 PM)

The first round sees Dauntless cleared through for the Americans. Abort the front Japanese Fighter or the bomber?

warspite1 -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 2:32:12 PM)

The bomber please. The Japanese continue to fight regardless of odds until all are gone.

AllenK -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 2:34:24 PM)

Where does the bomber land?

I have tried putting carrier planes on different carriers to the one the program picks. It normally results in a crash (for the program not the aircraft) so just go with what the program says please. If its a land aircraft then I think Hong Kong makes sense (if possible) or I think there is a hex to the north. Otherwise shove it on Borneo please on the northern most oil hex. Thanks.

AllenK -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 2:49:50 PM)

Abort the fighter?

warspite1 -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 2:54:17 PM)

Yes please.

AllenK -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 3:01:09 PM)

Final result.

AllenK -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 3:08:13 PM)

US uses 4 points to reduce AA to no effect. The remaining 2 points increase the damage. The 'X' is put on Hiryu, which survives. Where do the Japanese wish to place the 'D'?

warspite1 -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 3:10:25 PM)

You've done my trick and posted the wrong pic [:)]

If I can choose Sendai (which was damaged before) then I will, otherwise please put Nachi in the firing line. Thank-you.

AllenK -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 3:15:28 PM)

The Sendai takes more hits and goes to the bottom. Near misses send the carrier Ryujo back to port. Where do the Japanese place the next 'A'?

warspite1 -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 3:18:52 PM)

Nachi please.

AllenK -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 3:30:39 PM)

Final tally.

[image]local://upfiles/47730/D0239331CDDD49CCB23CF6FC80E91840.jpg[/image]

AllenK -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 3:34:42 PM)

Do the Japanese want to land the B5N1 on the damaged Hiryu or the aborted Ryujo?

warspite1 -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 3:36:45 PM)

The aircraft might as well land on Hiryu if it can. Thank-you.

AllenK -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 3:38:42 PM)

The US stays to fight. The Japanese have been ordered to hold. Does the Ki-27 want to put in an appearance this time?

warspite1 -> RE: Folly a deux: AllenK vs Warspite1 AAR (3/15/2020 3:40:17 PM)

No thank-you. Forget D-Day, this is real Guadalcancal stuff!! The Japanese decide they can't spare the fighter.

Well, it was until both sides failed to find (6's a piece).

Where do the Japanese abort to? First group is Ryujo and Nachi. Canton would be without interception. Not sure what would happen with Japan as I don't know whether or not the USSR subs would get a shot since USSR has a Land option.
