I think that you might not need backward compatibility for PBEM games at least. If you open old turns with the updated program (I think) you will get the updated export format.

Yes, it seems to be the way patches have worked up to now. But it won't be very fun for anyone who is in their 60th turn that will need to re-export every turn CSV one by one if they wish to continue using the Report engine. Even 20 turns would be a drag. Will have to think hard on this.

Also: information about enemy ground elements and aircraft (losses).

Not sure if too late for next patch - but a column for construction value of units would also be very very useful!

fulcrum28 -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (6/16/2019 2:05:24 PM)

great tool, you think you can make similar one for TOAWIV?

Niedowidek_slith -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (6/18/2019 3:07:03 PM)

TOAW IV already has situational maps generated in BMP format (page 12 of a manual, option called Movies).
If you ask about Reporting Engine, then it'a Joelmar's field, I believe.

fulcrum28 -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (6/21/2019 1:22:29 PM)

thank you, but that tool does not indicate/highlight the position and names of HQ army units, as your tool does.

Niedowidek_slith -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (1/22/2020 8:34:17 AM)

Hi Ole,

Thanks for letting me know. Great that you shared the logs.

I see there is another problem: the program can't find your map image file 01.tga (and probably others too). It's trying to read it from ...\Dat\save\Dat\Art\Zoom4_nogrid directory.

Could you check if you pointed the program to appropriate directory. I think you should pick:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Gary Grigsby's War in the East\
and you probably picked instead:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Gary Grigsby's War in the East\Dat\save

Anyway, I'll try if it works with Java 13 as there may be a problem too.

Artur

fritzfarlig -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (1/22/2020 9:29:01 AM)

HI Artur

thanks for returning on my problem, I will try your suggestions
when I return home later today.
My suspicion is java 13 I downloaded

Ole

Hi Artur

I can report all working perfect now
after I did your advice

Ole [:)][;)]

Niedowidek_slith -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (1/23/2020 8:10:44 AM)

Happy it works again :)

Adding commanders would be fairly simple. I just need to find some time during a weekend. Thanks for the idea :)

Artur

fritzfarlig -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (1/23/2020 11:11:53 AM)

it will be great hope you find the time [:)]

Niedowidek_slith -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (1/25/2020 7:45:29 PM)

Ole,

Would you be so kind to test this new version?

https://www.dropbox.com/s/84r5kjtihjybc4n/WiteStaffMap-0.1.2-SNAPSHOT.jar?dl=0

Option you want is called "Icons with commander names".

Let me know if you have any troubles.

Artur

fritzfarlig -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (1/25/2020 8:28:02 PM)

I used to go CMD and type: java -jar WiteStaffMap-0.1.0.jar but maybe this is wrong now

I tried java -jar WiteStaffMap-0.1.2.jar with out luck

Niedowidek_slith -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (1/25/2020 9:08:49 PM)

Downloading a jar and double clicking on it should result in showing this screen.

I changed interface a bit since you downloaded. Radio buttons for choosing HQs representation are now organised vertically. "Icons with commander names" or "Unit names with commander names" option should be chosen.

Niedowidek_slith -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (1/25/2020 9:10:05 PM)

Expected result is like this:

[image]local://upfiles/46790/210186FBE33F4BB1B98A2551BB965D4D.jpg[/image]

Niedowidek_slith -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (1/25/2020 9:13:29 PM)

If you use command line, you should change filename after -jar to the last downloaded version. In our case it is WiteStaffMap-0.1.2-SNAPSHOT.jar , so a full command would be
java -jar WiteStaffMap-0.1.2-SNAPSHOT.jar
However you could just try double click on the jar file.

abb3faria -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (2/21/2020 10:28:34 AM)

Hi Artur,

as this looks awesome i wanted to try it out. Unfortunately I'm getting an error when i run it with my save files. Hope you can point me in the right direction.

Game: steam version, up to date
Mods: COREd Wite 1.2, aRainyDayInRussia (map mod)
Java: Version 8 Update 241 (should be up to date)
OS: Win10 Pro
log: screenshot attached

Any idea why it won't work?

Regards
Abbe

Niedowidek_slith -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (2/21/2020 6:37:33 PM)

Hi Abbe,

Could you send me your csv file? I think you used "Stats (Turn 001 1941-06-22 Ax).csv" - the last one mentioned in the attached screenshot. I would like to try to reproduce this error on my computer.

Regards,
Artur

Niedowidek_slith -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (2/22/2020 1:57:18 PM)

Abbe,
You should also have some log files in logs sudirectory. This subdirectory should be located in the same folder as JAR file you are using. Could you send me those files too ? (I need log files with creation/modification dates corresponding to the day when you experienced this error)

abb3faria -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (2/23/2020 9:29:51 PM)

...had to rename to txt.

Thanks!

abb3faria -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (2/23/2020 9:34:17 PM)

...and here is a newly created log.

Niedowidek_slith -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (3/2/2020 9:01:35 PM)

Abbe,

Please try this version
https://www.dropbox.com/s/d2kz931y1xnb9le/WiteStaffMap-0.1.2.3-SNAPSHOT.jar?dl=0

I suppose that you participate in beta and already have 1.12.03 version of WITE ?

It seems that the format of the report changed a little (section with leaders' data used to have AH symbol, now it has DH). Also information about enemy units is available in your report (Morvael added it a while ago). I changed code a bit so it shows enemies in appropriate color.

Could you try it and tell me if it works OK for you now?

Artur

morvael -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (3/3/2020 8:38:53 AM)

Yes, it was changed because there was conflict (two items used the same header).

quote:

Enhanced data exported to CSV file from Commander’s Report screen:
* Added offensive (Atk) and defensive (Def) CV, Max TOE, TOE Id, and TOE Name information to unit data. For air bases offensive CV represents total number of aircraft, defensive CV represents number of ready aircraft. Added visible information about enemy units.
* Added aircraft range, group range (0 means no limit), night mission, upgrade, and replacement information to air group data. Added visible information about enemy air groups.
* Added controlling player information to city data. Added visible information about enemy cities.
* Added factory data (row identifiers FH/F).
* Leader rows identifiers changed from AH/A to DH/D to remove conflict with aircraft row identifiers.
* Added visible information about enemy ground elements.
* Added visible information about enemy aircraft.
* Added battle data (row identifiers BH/B).

Niedowidek_slith -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (3/3/2020 7:51:21 PM)

Thanks for detailed explanation, Morvael.

I fixed colors of enemy units so now you can see both sides of conflict on the map.

New version of the app is here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/t2xiqjmn6ymu3vh/WiteStaffMap-0.1.2.4-SNAPSHOT.jar?dl=0

morvael -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (3/3/2020 8:44:36 PM)

Well, this explanation was present in 1.12.00 changelog :)

abb3faria -> RE: WITE Situational Map Generator (3/4/2020 5:11:48 PM)

Hi Artur,

thanks for the feedback. I should have mentioned that earlier, but you are correct, I do use the latest beta. The new version however does not help with my error.

I will tomorrow try to roll back to the official version and report if that changes anything.

Regards

Abbe
