We need a scapegoat, lets blame him for it still going.

RangerJoe -> RE: Hello (7/22/2019 2:59:19 AM)

Why a male scapegoat, why not a female one?

The female goat is called a “doe” or “nanny.”. The male goat is called a “buck” or “billy.”

Origin of the word 16th century England
scapegoat noun
scape·goat | \ ˈskāp-ˌgōt \
Definition of scapegoat (Entry 1 of 2)
1 : a goat upon whose head are symbolically placed the sins of the people after which he is sent into the wilderness in the biblical ceremony for Yom Kippur
2a : one that bears the blame for others
b : one that is the object of irrational hostility

Always had a male connotation since its origin. But I see your point it could be understood as dare I say "sexist" today.

We could blame the whole of England for giving us the origin!

For such I great answer I confer upon myself the title of Professor. Thank you every one.

RangerJoe -> RE: Hello (7/22/2019 4:04:57 AM)

I guess that you are right, a male scapegoat. After all, all men make mistakes, married men just find out about them sooner. [:-]

Zovs -> RE: Hello (7/22/2019 8:22:46 AM)

Now that was funny

Titanwarrior89 -> RE: Hello (7/22/2019 6:05:18 PM)

He was Short, a Corsican and got excellent grades at the Artillery academy, He did good in Spain, France, Austria and at the beginning in Russia and at the end at Waterloo not so good, cause he lost that battle and was put in exile. We got some great war games from his battles, some of my favorites are from the 1970's by SPI. Wellington's Victory comes to mind and those Napoleon at War Quads too. OSG created a living out of making those French war games, I always wanted to get Highway to the Kremlin.

Well apparently, because I’m British and we all think the same and we all dislike Napoleon in a vicereal way, I think Napoleon was a bit of a naughty. Note, no other persons of British extraction need to pass further comment as apparently I’ve spoken for all of us (according to selected French lawyers who have provided legal opinion that we are all of exactly the same mindset).

But, but... Wellington: "I used to say of him [Napoleon] that his presence on the field made the difference of forty thousand men." Asked who was the greatest general of his day, Wellington replied: 'In this age, in past ages, in any age, Napoleon'.

Yeah, but did he mean 40,000 Frenchmen or 40,000 British for the advantage? [;)]
