Calyph -> RE: WHAT IS YOUR BEST GAME OF CLOSE COMBAT SERIES (6/20/2019 3:36:58 PM)

My favorite has to be CCIII - The Russian Front. I loved that your units persisted throughout the campaign and could improve based on what year it was. Also, having yourself as the commander on the ground was really cool as well. Starting off with just a platoon leader, then a command squad, half track, all the way through to a Panther was great. A Bridge Too Far and Battle of the Bulge are tied for second for me. I love the advanced strategy of ABTF with picking supply drops and such, but the Battle of the Bulge is one of my favorite scenarios of the war. There was also a nice improvement to graphics and AI for CCIV. Close Combat would be fourth because of the nostalgia factor. It was one of the first games I played on our old Power Macintosh 7300. I was 6 when that one came out. CCV never really held my attention. Maybe I'll give it another shot now that the new games will be available soon. P.S. This is my first post on the forum. I just found out about the new game a week or so ago and I'm super excited about it. Really hoping I get into the beta.
