BB, the category is actually Attack bombers not Assault bombers.

Unlike level bombers, Attack bombers do not suffer the penalty of using extended range reduced bomb loads when bombing at 1,000 feet or lower.

Good points Hans! I will change the bomber type in my post.

Or Sweep will work too. Both Escort and Sweep train Air skill. I train fighters at 1000 feet because that will also train Defensive skill and I have not seen any benefit to training fighters at higher altitude.

Thank you for that insight. I've been training my fighter pilots in two phases as per many of the air training guides out there - 1st training escort at 10k for air skill and 2nd training sweep at 100ft for defensive skill. It would simplify things immensely if 1k alt covers both.

AW1Steve -> RE: Any Suggestions from Experienced Players on Setting Up US Production for the Campaign Scenario? (6/20/2019 3:40:11 PM)

Think of the game as a series of training exercises. You've got all the short games. You do them , as each side , against the AI. Then you do the same thing against a real person. Next you play the "grand campaign", 1st against the AI , then against a person or persons. The Japanese side of the Grand campaign is the hardest , final series of training exercise in the package. When you've mastered every single other aspect of the game , THEN it's time for the "post-graduate" courses. And as any student of the second world war will tell you , it's the power of economics that make WW2 so unique. It would be relatively easy to run the allied production system (just leave it as it is). All you'd probably do is cripple it , and the allies would still win. But Japan's system could only improve. Hence , you learn to play "Factory manager in the Pacific" as the Japanese.

My apologies for the Gorn's ill temper. It's largely due to me. Despite his really excellent playing as the Japanese in our game , It's fall of 1943 and things for him are beginning to fail. He doesn't respond well to my kicking his.....butt. [:D] It's starting to show. [:D]

Well I was looking for confirmation of my observation that the Air skill did not train any faster at altitude. I have been wrong about the odd thing, but I will not list them for fear of breaking the board!

This is complete mud. Can you clarify or post a link?

Folks,
I think it's safe to say I learned my lesson on posting a dumb question about WITP AE. I regret doing it. And I'd rather not have this turn out to be a verbal brawl. So let's call a truce and I'll move on. I do appreciate the helpful comments. Thx

Fishbed -> RE: Any Suggestions from Experienced Players on Setting Up US Production for the Campaign Scenario? (6/20/2019 4:59:08 PM)

Aye Aye Sir, well said.
But don't regret anything though, the question was fine. The crowd (including myself) quite less so.

Actually fishface, are you practicing any religion? Why do YOU bring it up at all?

You don't know me and you say this?
I don't even violate the forum rules and you question my Christianity?

Aksully,

Don't worry about your initial post. We've all made similar posts in our pasts with this game and we've all done a good portion of the boners that all new players do. It's partly experience with the game and partly through experience with the forum. Both will temper your 'adjustment' to your new way of life with WiTP:AE. I do trust that you will welcome your new WiTP:AE overlord?

Welcome to the forum and hope to see you around more. [8D]

Mike,
I just started to follow your PBEM thread and appreciate the time you're taking to do it along with your comments. I've already gotten some nice tips. Thx!

Thanks for the comments! It seems that your question has turned into "the latest place to air and vent old and new animosities." [8|]

Sorry that this has become one of your first impressions of our AE community. It is a minority here, thankfully.

AW1Steve -> RE: Any Suggestions from Experienced Players on Setting Up US Production for the Campaign Scenario? (6/20/2019 6:16:15 PM)

Guys , lets cease the personal attacks and other theatrics. I've ask the adults to visit this thread , so let's all just calm down and go elsewhere , before someone says anything worse and gets banned. [8|][:(]

WingCmdr,

Your friends must all be 12 years old because you act just like 'em. Either straighten yourself out, or go to Twitter. You'll fit right in there.

At the rate you're going...

NO!!

This is a not so thinly veiled personal threat!

A simple explanation would have sufficed. Thanks for nothing and the insulting replies.

You have much to learn about Gorns. His response/puns may have sounded personal and insulting, but I can assure you they were not intended to be that way. Its just a Gorn thing.[;)]

It is pilot training. Max out your training air squadrons in USA, Canada, Aden (?) etc, and put them all on Train 100%.

Remember to set all training units to range=0. If not they will build fatigue in both pilots and planes, leading to losses.

quote:

If India and/or Australia or New Zealand don't get the needed fuel, their factories WILL STOP producing planes, weapons etc.

This is false. While those factories will stop producing supply in their areas they will in fact still produce weapons and planes. Why? Because these are produced using HI (heavy industry) points and those are a 'universal' input.

But it brings up a good point. I was unable to delete a thread as a thread starter. Is that an administrator
only privelage, just like closing a thread?

Yes to both.

And Moderators lock threads, they don't delete them to the best of my knowledge.

They also choose to lock threads based on their own assessment, not the demands of any given poster.

This thread is most likely headed for a lock.

And you completely misinterpreted Korvar's 'tongue-in-cheek' reference to a the 'banhammer'.

Since only a Moderator can ban, it was anything BUT a personal threat.

It was an attempt at prophesy.

A pretty good one in my book if you keep up your antagonistic antics.

With that comment I'm taking AW1 Steve's advice and checking out from this thread.

The fault is not yours, but another individual. And your question wasn't dumb, just somewhat uninformed.[:D]

So please stick around and we will eventually (with your help) get you to where you'd like to be.

Well maybe, we'll see.[:D]

One thing I can tell you is that a lot of what is supposed to be humor here is very tongue-in-cheek.[8|]

I think this one has run its course. I'm sorry to the new player who got a less that helpful answer.

I'm locking this one. If you think it shouldn't be locked, PM me and make your case and I might reconsider...

Bill
