Definitely wait around for one of the Matrix sales, War in the Pacific:AE is a good deal when on sale. To my mind, part of the essential arithmetic is allowing for such a niche product; i.e., if you want the best example of WW2 Pacific Theater grand strategy... this is it. Period. I think that is worth a premium. And besides, Andy Mac was just hovering around releasing (unofficial) scenario 1 and 2 updates to AI, units and map city locations 10 YEARS after launch and quite a few since official Matrix improvement support ended. Adding additional cities in certain locations will help the AI execute the plans better, so it's all good to my thinking. Just be ready to set aside some time to browse this forum and find the tools and tips, etc. the community has so graciously provided. Kull's Allied and Japanese Start spreadsheets are a godsend for newbs on a mission to play the full campaign. Cheers!
