Yes, you drop to individual units, so HQ got the fuel for themselves. The only case when resources are distributed to units around is airhead supply via airbase.

wkuh -> RE: Bugs? (3/2/2020 1:52:50 PM)

Aaahh… answers a question for me, thanks! (...drop to units, not HQs...)

wkuh -> RE: Bugs? (3/2/2020 1:53:49 PM)

...and welcome back BOZO!

rebel15nc -> RE: Bugs? (3/12/2020 10:14:53 PM)

Greetings, I too am returning to GGWITE after a few years. Can anyone remind me how to activate the setting that draws a line back to the HQ of a unit if you click on the unit or if you click on the HQ, it draws a line or lines to all of that HQ's units? Thanks

Press the (`/~) key.

redrum68 -> RE: Bugs? (3/13/2020 2:53:36 AM)

Yeah I didn't realize that for a while either. I'm a bit surprised its not just on by default.

56ajax -> RE: Bugs? (3/13/2020 5:43:36 AM)

also Shift Z

Bozo_the_Clown -> RE: Bugs? (3/15/2020 5:34:01 PM)

I am conducting experimental mud warfare during 41 as Soviet player and get some odd results. The Russians should get slaughtered during this battle but instead it's the other side taking the losses. Not a single occurrence. Is this normal?

Were most of the losses from the Rum Cav? They are brittle.

Picked up this game again after 3 years. Still so good!

Welcome back! I always love reading your material and wish you were doing an AAR on your current game. Can we talk you into doing an AAR from the Soviet side which I believe you are playing now? Please? Pretty please?

That might explain it.

Thanks for the kind words. I won't do an AAR with this game because it has already gone out of balance (T24). But my next game will be as Axis and I might do one.

Very nice. I look forward to the AAR.

What happened to partisans in this game? The map is plastered with them but I there are no attacks. I didn't like the old model but where can I find some info what the effects of partisans are. Thanks in advance.

Partisans havent fired a shot in over 2 years. They spend all their time in the swamps on vodka and horizontal folk dancing.

I have 75 + units (most combat unready) in my current game and my opponent does say they blow up the occasional rail line.

There is the possibility that Partisan activity is not being reported to the Soviets via the Battles icon or the CR.

Don't bother with manual supply as it makes no difference.

morvael -> RE: Bozo is back from retirement and has lots of questions (3/20/2020 7:39:24 AM)

Air drops to partisans are serious source of strength for them, they should attack more often then.

In one game I manually resupplied every turn so that Partisan supply is > 100% for all units. Made no difference whatsoever. You cannot Air Drop squads.

The system is great for creating partisans but very poor in populating them thus they struggle to ever reach Combat Ready.

In one of my games, t8, 24 partisan units created, none combat ready, highest TOE is 35% and highest Morale is 40.

I would love to know what # at the start of the unit name means.

For 'normal' units the # means the unit is isolated. Which would make sense for partisans. I don't know if it goes away if you manually resupply them.

As far as I can see I've not had a single partisan attack and we are on turn 30. All IL-4 have been supplying partisans from T1 on. I'll ask my opponent if there was an attack on a rail hex.

There was an old piece of research that partisans make a strike on average after they have had 6 good supply drops. That was under an old version. Do you think many of your units got that level of supply?

HardLuckYetAgain -> RE: Bozo is back from retirement and has lots of questions (3/20/2020 3:15:06 PM)

I have used a technique of setting up supply bombers in strategic places to drop ample supply to partisans. I can tell you from my studies I have found 2 IL-4's squadrons (or the other heavy bombers are fine too) per VVS spread out around 10-12ish hexes from each up and down the entire frontage has given the best resupply of partisans. That means only one VVS every 10-12ish hexes. I have tried testing 4, 5, 6, and even 8 squadrons on a base to a lesser extent of success on resupply.

Sammy - For 'normal' units the # means the unit is isolated. Which would make sense for partisans. I don't know if it goes away if you manually resupply them.

# does mean isolated and if you choose all the isolated Partisans it uses # as search criteria in the name. Unfortunately not all Partisans have the # ie some are not isolated.

The manual states that all Partisans are created as Inactive cadre, denoted by a # next to the unit name on the right side unit bar. A # never appears in the rs unit bar. And the event log does not support this.

Re supply to 999% does not make any difference.

Perhaps redundant code.

For whatever reason Partisan Activity is no longer being reported to the Soviet Player. This is a defect.

You mean no battle reports for partisan attacks?

Yes, I was confused because I didn't see the detonation marker on the map anymore.

Correct, no dynamite plungers on the map and nothing on the Battles Tab in the CR.

What you can deduce is what your opponent did to combat the partisans.

What was the rational for getting rid of the battle icons for partisans. The new system seems kind of tedious.

I don't think it was intentional (unless it is another dirty rotten Axis trick), it is a defect.

morvael -> RE: Bozo is back from retirement and has lots of questions (4/2/2020 8:50:26 PM)

For one there is a limit on battle reports which is very problematic if someone is spamming recons and bombing missions (just 1000), older battles get overriden by new battles. But this may be a bug, will have to investigate. But with this damned lockdown I'm occupied by caring for my family :(
