Dampfnudel -> Planet generation needs to be inversed (optional) (12/8/2020 2:01:21 PM)

Playing on small planets only, I noticed that I never have planets where propeller aircraft or agriculture are viable.
Sometimes it is, but it takes very many rerolls to achieve it. I also struggle to get a single ice planet or jungle planet.

It would be nice if we could set goals for these parameters, and then a planet would be generated to hit that goal.

It's because of how planet generation works in a realistic manner. Basically just like irl small moons/planetoids wont have enough gravity to retain a decent atmosphere.

Dude, you made the same thread as this just some days ago.

I'm just gonna copy and paste what I wrote there:
Planet size actually doesn't matter that much for airplanes. The ratio between gravity and atmospheric pressure is what matters. You can get small planets with low gravity and modest atmosphere and you will have very potent airplanes there.
See this pdf:

If you generate a planet with low gravity and high atmosphere, you can get starting airplanes with 20 tiles range.
But this is kinda forgetting about the fact that you can improve aircraft through a ton of different technologies and that you don't NEED them to be viable from the getgo.

Independent of aircraft I would like to generate a planet of the kind I like.

it is annoying to reroll 40 times to get it right.

That is just epic, like it was in Baldur's Gate character generation.
