Villain -> RE: Secrets for Greece in one turn (8/13/2021 7:46:54 PM)

I thought I'd try this in a game and share my success. The Italians solo effort captured Athens in my latest game on Turn 24 (1940/07/19) on same turn France surrendered (Vichy). My aim was to fully disguise the preparation and invade the moment the Italians could attack while the UK wouldn't have a full fleet or carriers in the eastern med to mess up the invasion plans or sink Italian ships in retaliation. Took 2x Paras from Albania, two Air transports, 2x TAC (one is in Rhodes), Mountaineer, Marine, HQ (Messe), 50 landing ships and ~20 trucks. Of course Naval Bombardment turned 2-1 odds into 4-1. Sadly to be able to afford to do this so early I scrapped both the Italian armor on turn 1 so this is somewhat costly if it doesn't work out. I would have needed to air supply two units and attack the following turn if both attacks failed. I've been horribly unlucky in the BOA so gifting another 17 MM and a DD to the UK is worth the effort for strategic advantage early in this region while Sealion is still a possibility and the UK navy is spread out.
